Cockroach control in Al Nahdah Jeddah
Al Nahdah runs along Hira Street between King Abdulaziz Road and Prince Sultan Road, and its flats sit on top of an unbroken row of restaurants and shops. That mix changes cockroach work here. The source is often a commercial unit under your feet, and the German cockroach climbs the building's service pipes into your kitchen after dark, rather than breeding inside your flat alone.

Why they keep coming back in Al Nahdah
In Al Nahdah's mixed buildings we often find a flat infested from below rather than from within. However clean its kitchen is, that counts for little while the source sits in the shop underneath it. The method is set out in full on our Cockroach control service.
A flat above a shop, not a house on its own
Along Hira Street, homes sit on top of trade that stays open all day. The German cockroach you spot in your flat may be a migrant from a restaurant or grocer below you, so treating your flat on its own leaves the real source running and the problem returns.
A source that never stops feeding
The food shops beneath the flats renew crumbs and scraps every single day, restocking the colony even after we treat the units above. So we trace the bait back to the entry point from the commercial floor, not just to whatever shows up on your own worktop.
Pipes that tie the kitchen to the cafe
In these buildings the flats and the units share single vertical stacks for drainage and ventilation, and cockroaches travel up and down them between floors. That is why we seal the passage points around the pipes under the sink before we rely on any spray on its own.
The species and the place decide the method
The density of restaurants and cafes along Hira Street means a constant supply of food and moisture on the ground floors, and a shared drainage and ventilation network that links their kitchens to the flats stacked directly above them.
German cockroach
The commonest species in Al Nahdah's flats. It arrives small inside delivery boxes at the shop below you, then works its way up the stairwell and the service pipes into your kitchen.
American cockroach
The larger species. It comes up from the shared drains and inspection chambers of the commercial ground floors, and turns up in the building's car park and entrances after nightfall.
Appliance heat
The ground-floor restaurants run fridges and ovens without a break, and that steady heat turns the wall you share with them into an incubator where the egg cases hatch fast.
The gap behind the fridge
In the small flat kitchens here, the back of the fridge sits against the wall that divides you from the commercial stairwell, so the gap behind it becomes the first stop for anything arriving from below.
Water before food
Before it hunts for food, a cockroach looks for water. Ventilation moisture from the restaurants and the air conditioning on the ground floors keeps the shared walls damp right through the year.
What you see at night
If you see a single roach in your kitchen at night, it is most likely a scout up from the commercial floor, not a settled population that has made its home inside your flat alone.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and identify
We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.
-
2
Treat the harbourage
Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.
-
3
Close what can be closed
We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.
What cockroach control includes
-
A recorded inspection
Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.
-
Placed gel bait
In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.
-
Targeted spray where needed
On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.
-
Drain and entry treatment
Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.
-
Aftercare instructions
Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.
-
A scheduled follow-up
A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.
Questions about this district
Is the restaurant below my flat the cause?
It is usually one of the sources, but rarely the only one. We check the entry point from the commercial floor and the service pipes, and we treat the crossing points inside your flat, so the work holds even if the unit below yours is never touched.
Can you treat the shop in the same building?
Yes, if the owner agrees. Treating the commercial floor together with the flats above it is the surest way to cut the source off. Where that is not possible, we concentrate on sealing the routes the roaches use to climb into your unit.
My neighbour treated his flat and they moved to me?
It happens often in Hira Street's connected buildings. When one unit is sprayed, the colony flees through the pipes to the flat next door. Effective treatment covers the crossing points between you both, not a single flat treated in isolation.
Do cardboard boxes carry roaches up to the flat?
Yes. The delivery cardboard that piles up on the commercial floors is an ideal home for German cockroach eggs, and it can ride up with whatever you carry into your flat. We advise against storing empty boxes inside the kitchen.
I live on an upper floor, so why do they reach me?
Height gives no protection in these buildings. The German cockroach climbs the vertical drainage and ventilation stacks from the ground floors right to the top, and settles wherever it finds water and warmth, which an upper-floor kitchen supplies as readily as a lower one.
Hira Street is congested, can you reach our building?
Yes, we cover Al Nahdah along its whole length between King Abdulaziz Road and Prince Sultan Road. The traffic on Hira only means we agree an arrival time and a parking spot with you in advance, so the visit runs without hold-ups.
How much does cockroach control in Al Nahdah cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Nahdah.
