Questions about this district

My house is new concrete, so why are there roaches?

A modern build is not sealed against them. Expansion joints, service openings and air-conditioning runs are ready-made ways in, and it is worse when the new house shares a lane with an old traditional one the colony can cross from. We treat the concrete entry points on their own terms, not by the logic of the old fabric.

Does the sea humidity make them spread more?

Yes. The high humidity near the shore gives the roach the water it always needs, so its activity does not drop off in summer the way it would inland. That is why we focus on drying out water sources and step up the follow-up through the most humid months.

My neighbour in the old house hasn't treated. Does that affect me?

Shared walls and the old cracks between the quarter's houses let a colony pass from one home to the next. We treat yours and seal the openings on the shared wall, but the result holds far longer when neighbours act together at the same time rather than one door at a time.

I store fish and provisions on the ground floor. What should I do?

A store of fish and grain kept near the floor puts food and damp in one place, and that is the single biggest draw for the American cockroach here. Lift provisions off the ground into sealed containers, and we will treat the route it takes up from the drains towards that store.

I moved from an old house to a new flat. Did I bring them in the furniture?

The quarter's drainage is old. Is that the source?
