Aged buildings, worn-out plumbing networks, dense restaurants, furnished flats and popular markets create ideal conditions for cockroaches and rodents. Gaps between buildings and cracks in foundations exist everywhere and are difficult to trace.

We walk the boundary, the feed store, the pens, the water sources and the buildings, record the species present, the burrows, the entry points and every standing water source, and number the monitoring positions on a plan.

The piles, the rubble, the fallen dates, the feed sacks pushed up against the wall. On any large plot these gather simply because there is room for them, and clearing them brings the numbers down before a single product is used.

The perimeter band and targeted treatment

A band at the foot of the wall and the buildings, treatment into the burrows and cracks, locked rodent stations fixed along the route, and mosquito breeding sites treated in the water itself.

Scheduled visits and a sheet each time

We come back on an agreed schedule, read the same points, renew the band the sun and the irrigation have used up, and write down what was found, what was applied and where, and what the site needs closed.

What is different about Airport Sub-Municipality

The Airport sub-municipality covers some of the oldest established districts of northern Jeddah, gathered around King Abdulaziz International Airport between Madinah Road, King Fahd Road and Prince Majid Road. The stock is villas, single family houses and apartment blocks built decades ago, many served by ageing water and sewer lines. Commercial streets such as Quraish, Sari and Sultan bin Salman are lined with restaurants, furnished flats and popular markets. Dense commercial kitchens, worn pipework and the gaps in older buildings give cockroaches and rodents steady food and shelter, and the high resident population keeps that pressure constant through the year.

Questions about this district

We took the furnished flat and there are very many pests already present. Who is responsible?

The owner must deliver a pest free property. However the problem requires professional treatment before handover to eliminate all established colonies inside the walls.

Are the old pipes under the street responsible for pests coming into our home?

Yes, in part. Leaking pipes provide constant water and pest corridors. But blocking entry points to your flat and treating the interior breaks the connection.

The restaurant downstairs operates without real sanitation. Does this affect us in the flat?

Very directly. Poorly run restaurants attract large populations of cockroaches, rodents and ants that migrate into flats above them.

The flat concrete and floors have very many small cracks throughout. Is this normal wear?

Yes, old buildings crack naturally. These cracks are pest corridors that must be sealed and treated one by one.

We lived in the flat a year with no pests, now suddenly many appear. What changed?

Pests are always present but hidden in walls and crevices. A particular season or temperature spike causes them to emerge from concealed harbours.

Is treating inside the flat only enough or must we also treat outside the building?

Inside treatment alone is incomplete. You must treat the building foundation, the base zone and the outdoor gaps surrounding pest entry points.
