Hotels and apartments in Al Salamah Jeddah

Al Salamah is a mixed district in northern Jeddah between Prince Sultan Road and Madinah Road, with villas, apartments and commercial streets on Quraish and Al Yamamah. A small hotel may sit next to medical clinics or dental surgeries, and patients arriving from different cities may bring bed bugs. The furnished flat may sit directly below a lab or a dental clinic.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Salamah

A furnished flat here may sit below a clinic, and a patient who stayed in the clinic overnight may deliver bed bugs to the flat above. The method is set out in full on what Hotels and apartments involves.

The first reason

Medical clinics and surgeries occupy units within residential buildings

An eye clinic or dental surgery sits on the ground or second floor, and patients from different places may carry bed bugs. Medical staff and clinic visitors may spread infestation from a hospital upward to the flat above. We need coordination between the clinic and the furnished flat in inspection and treatment.

The second reason

Specialist hospitals stand close to small hotels and furnished flats

The Magrabi Eye Hospital and GNP Hospital are nearby, and staff and visitors circulate between hospital and hotel. Medical pressure on the district is high and may carry bed bugs from hospital to hotel and back. A small hotel may not notice early infestation until it is widespread.

The third reason

Daily movement of patients, staff and visitors between buildings

A patient visits a clinic in the morning and sleeps in a furnished flat in the evening. A hospital worker sleeps in the flat and brings bed bugs from the hospital. Personal belongings and bags may move between buildings. Daily repeated contact easily spreads insects.

What we check in the room, and behind it

Between Prince Sultan Road and Madinah Road, the district holds the Magrabi Eye Hospital, GNP Hospital, the Al Yamamah walkway and a University of Jeddah campus. Al Shati and Al Zahra lie to the west and Al Rawdah to the east.

A stripped hotel mattress with its edge piping visible

Mattress and base seams

A patient staying at a clinic may sleep on a couch or clinic bed that carries bed bugs, then transport them to the furnished flat.

A wooden headboard fixed to the wall behind a bed

The headboard

The headboard in the flat may be simple and old, and the void behind it offers perfect shelter for bed bugs.

An empty hotel corridor with guest room doors along it

The rooms either side

The adjoining room may be a clinic or another flat, and the shared wall may be thin.

A luggage stand and a wardrobe in a guest room

The luggage stand and wardrobe

The luggage rack in the flat sits beside the door where staff and visitor bags land.

A small kitchen with cabinets and a sink inside a serviced apartment

The kitchenette in a unit

The flat may have a small fridge and cooker, and a staff member cooking light meals may draw insects.

Industrial washing machines and linen trolleys in a laundry

Laundry and the waste room

The shared laundry room on a lower floor may sit beside a clinic waiting area.

How we work

  1. 1

Walk the floor, room by room

We start from what the staff reported, open the beds, lift the headboards and check the rooms either side and the ones above and below, then mark each room as affected, adjacent or clear.

  2. 2

    Treatment outside occupied hours

Seams are vacuumed first, then steam or a targeted application goes onto the seams and joints, dust into the frame voids and behind the skirting, and gel bait through the kitchens and service areas. Nothing is broadcast over soft furnishings.

  3. 3

    Sealing, and the operating routine

We close the skirting gap, the pipe penetration and the gap under the service corridor door, then agree with the staff that linen is bagged inside the room itself, and what gets reported the moment it is seen.

  4. 4

Follow-up, and putting the room back

We come back once the remaining eggs have hatched, read the monitors and open the bed a second time. A room returns to service on the result of that inspection, and the room number and both dates go into the log.

What the hotel and apartment programme includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

A recorded room by room inspection

Beds opened, headboards lifted, neighbouring rooms checked, and the state of every room number recorded before anything is applied.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

Treatment of the beds and seams

Vacuuming, then a targeted application on mattress and base seams, frame joints and behind the skirting, never across the open surfaces of the room.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

Bait and points in the service areas

Gel bait and numbered monitoring positions through the kitchen, the stores and the service corridors, read and logged on every visit.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drains, laundry and waste

Floor gullies, the grease trap, the laundry and the ground around the containers, because that is the source that renews itself daily.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Room release and staff guidance

What is covered and cleared before we go in, the ventilation time we set for each case, and what the staff look for when they strip a bed.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A timed follow-up and a room log

A second visit timed to the hatch, monitors read, and a record carrying the room number, the date of each visit and what was found.

The character of Al Salamah

Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them

Al Salamah district has high medical activity but that doesn't mean the hotel and flat need a full hospital programme. We recommend a balanced approach: routine uninterrupted inspection, coordination with nearby clinics and hospitals, and staff training in recognising early signs of infestation.

Questions about this district

Can a patient staying at a clinic carry bed bugs to the flat above?

Yes, very likely. A patient may come from another hospital or a home with bed bugs, and sleep in the furnished flat for a night or two and deposit bed bugs. We need weekly inspection of flats below clinics.

Can medical staff bring bed bugs from the hospital to their flat?

Yes. A worker sleeps in the furnished flat and works at the hospital, and may carry bed bugs via clothes or a bag. The risk is higher than a casual guest because they use the same bed every night.

Is treating the flat alone without treating the clinic below an incomplete solution?

Yes, very much so. If the clinic is infested, bed bugs climb daily. We need to treat clinic and flat together with coordination between teams.

Does high medical activity in the district mean very high pest pressure?

Yes. The eye hospital and GNP Hospital create high pressure across the district. Intensive medical movement and staff and visitors mean continuous pressure, not seasonal.

May a small hotel fail to notice a minor infestation at first?

Yes, easily. A hotel with dozens of rooms may ignore a complaint from one room until infestation becomes widespread. We recommend routine inspection cycles even without complaints.

How often must a hotel or furnished flat near clinics be inspected for pests?

Fortnightly at minimum, especially if patient flow is heavy. If complaints appear, weekly inspection and prompt treatment.

How much does hotels and apartments in Al Salamah cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Salamah.
