Preventive treatment in Yamamah Makkah
Yamamah is a mixed district with ground floor shops and homes above it, north of Al Sharai and outside the Haram boundary, surrounded by the Al Shifa hills, large vacant plots and building that is scattered and incomplete. Insects come from the commercial shops below and the open land surrounding the district, so the programme protects the flats from entry from below and from the front at the same time.
-
Targeted, not broadcast
Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.
-
Told before we start
What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.
-
A follow-up visit
We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.
-
Homes and businesses
Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.
Why they keep coming back in Yamamah
Insects from commercial shops and open land find multiple pathways to flats in Yamamah because building is incomplete and gaps are numerous, which means pressure from more than one direction at once. The method is set out in full on how we approach Preventive treatment.
Shops below and vacant land in front
Yamamah has shops on the ground floors beneath flats, and large vacant plots in front of buildings create pressure from two directions. The programme focuses on sealing gaps from below and placing a strong barrier at the base of the outside wall, because entry pressure comes from beneath and in front of the building together.
Large vacant land and scattered building
Building in Yamamah is highly scattered and gaps between buildings, villas and flats are numerous, offering shelter for rodents and insects. Entry attempts may increase when building starts on neighbouring plots, so we intensify visits during those periods.
The Al Shifa hills and hill insects
The Al Shifa mountains beside the district harbour rodents, scorpions and hill dwelling insects. As temperatures drop or seasons change these creatures may attempt entry to warm buildings, so we monitor pressure from the hills closely during seasonal transitions.
Landmarks of Yamamah
Access from Al Jaranah Road and King Faisal Road is straightforward, and the programme schedules visits around foot traffic at Al Qubbah Mosque and building activity on neighbouring plots. We choose times that avoid heavy excavation and disruption periods, because chaos may increase insect entry risk from outside.

What a preventive visit reads
Formerly Sharai scheme five, a mixed district north of the Haram boundary. Villas and apartments stand among many vacant plots between the Al Shifa hills and neighbourhood mosque. Building is patchy and not yet complete.
The base of the outside wall
The base of the outside wall in Yamamah faces pressure from vacant land and shops, so we place a very strong residual there that protects from below entry from multiple directions.
Gaps and openings
Gaps around pipes serving the shop and flat may be shared or run very close together, so we seal them very tightly and monitor each one with a separate monitoring point.
Air conditioning condensate
Air conditioning drainage from flat and shop may be shared, creating damp pooling around the building base. We monitor this point closely and direct all drains away from the wall where possible.
Floor drains
Floor drains in the shop may be a direct entry point to shared piping, so we place multiple monitoring points around the drains and shared gaps.
Irrigation against the wall
Vacant land may gather dust and wild plants in winter, which may attract insects from nature. We monitor this area and may increase visits when wild insects from the land increase.
The monitoring points
Monitoring points go at the shared entrance, around voids between floors, the outside wall and around shared gaps. Reading the points tells us pressure from the shop, vacant land and the hills together.
How we work
-
1
The baseline survey
We walk the outside boundary and then the inside: gaps under doors, pipe runs, vents, condensate lines, drains, the bin area and the store, and we fix the monitoring points before anything is applied.
-
2
Close the routes
Mesh on the vents, the gap under the door dealt with, the sleeve around a pipe run closed, and water put back into the drain nobody uses. Exclusion saves a spray that would otherwise repeat forever.
-
3
The band and the placed product
A residual band at the base of the wall outside and around door and window openings, with placed product inside joints and closed voids where it is warranted, and no open spray across living surfaces.
-
4
The scheduled visit: read, renew, record
We read the points to see which side is under pressure, renew the band where sun or irrigation has taken it, aim the visit at what the coming season opens up, and write down what was found and what was used.
What the preventive programme includes
-
A survey, then a check every visit
Entry points, moisture sources and storage, recorded before anything is applied and revisited each time.
-
Monitoring points that get read
At the wall and floor junction, under sinks and in the store, checked on every visit rather than only the last one.
-
A renewed exterior band
At the wall base and around the openings, put back wherever sun or irrigation took it between visits.
-
Drains, water lines and waste
The water seal in the drains, the condensate line and the ground around the bins, which are the standing water and food sources.
-
Between the visits
What to keep dry, what to keep closed, and what is worth a call before the next date. Ventilation we tell you before the visit.
-
A scheduled visit and a record of each
An agreed date, what the points held, what was treated, and what changed since last time.
What is different about Al Sharai Sub-Municipality
Al Sharai is the eastern growth front of Makkah along King Faisal Road and the Taif road. Settled quarters sit beside recently renamed schemes where plots are still vacant and buildings are going up, so construction sites, fill and open excavations lie next to occupied homes. Wadi channels such as Wadi Mudarraja, Wadi Al Sharai and Wadi Al Mughammas carry flash floods after rain and dry out to damp silt, while dust blows off the open hills. Roadside shops, restaurants and warehouses line the Taif road, and to the east the area shades into villages, palm farms and springs.
Questions about this district
The shop below is in a shared common courtyard. Will insects enter through the shared wall or shared drain?
They may enter through both or through one of them. The programme focuses on tightly sealing gaps around shared pipes, and we place monitoring points in two locations so we know which is the main entry path.
Vacant land in front of my house may soon be built on. Does the programme change?
It may change slightly. New building may increase pressure for a time, but when building finishes and the new villa is occupied pressure may drop. Monitoring points tell us the real changes.
The building next door is not finished. Do open voids increase insects?
Yes greatly. Open voids and gaps around pipes not yet sealed provide open highways for insects. We monitor this point closely and may increase visits when new building starts next to you.
The Al Shifa hills are very close. Will insects and rodents from there enter the house?
They may attempt entry especially in winter and transitional seasons, but the preventive programme stops them with a strong barrier around the foundations and monitoring points tell us any entry attempts from the hills.
In summer building continues and vacant land is very hot. Does that change pressure?
Intense heat may reduce some insects, but building may increase pressure. Monitoring points tell us the truth, so we may reduce visits in extreme heat but intensify them when new building starts.
I am on the second floor, vacant land in front, a shop below. Is pressure higher than a normal district?
Yes greatly. Pressure from two or more directions means the programme may be stronger and more frequent than in a settled district. Monitoring points decide the action based on the real pressure we record.
How much does preventive treatment in Yamamah cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Yamamah.
