A relatively new district in north east Jeddah surrounded by other recent residential areas, with vacant plots, ongoing building sites and half completed subdivisions scattered throughout.

Shed skin appears commonly in garden corners and damp spots in villas, especially under thick trees and bushes where the snake moults in shelter.

Rubble piles from neighbouring villa work still stack round the district, offering warm shelters where snakes nest between hunting trips to irrigated gardens.

We work the perimeter, the garden and the service rooms with a torch and a mirror, reading the tracks, the skins and the burrows to establish whether it is still on site and where it came in.

It comes out on a hook and tongs into a closed container and is released away from buildings where that is possible, with no chasing it around a room.

Close the routes, take away the shelter

A strip under the gate, sleeves around pipe entries, tight covers on the floor drains, and the blocks and palm fronds moved off the wall line.

Cut the food, then come back

We treat the rodents and the geckos on the perimeter, then return once that activity has settled to check the sealed points and look for any fresh track.

Taybah sub municipality covers the newly built districts of north east Jeddah along Al Haramain Road and Asfan Road. New villas and apartment buildings stand among vacant plots, building sites and half finished subdivisions. Al Hamdaniyah is the oldest and densest part with its markets and shops, while Al Furusiyah, Al Bashair, Al Rahmaniyah, Al Falah and Al Salihiyah are mostly recent. The ground is inland and away from the sea, dry and dusty, rest houses, camps and stables on the fringes draw flies and crawling insects, and constant digging and construction stirs rodents out of the empty plots.

Do garden irrigation systems provide routes for snakes?

Yes, exposed irrigation and drain pipes round villas offer perfect passages for snakes and rodents. The snake follows water and damp from the garden into the villa foundation without being seen at any point.

Do new unfinished villas hold snakes even when nobody lives there?

Very often. Empty villas still under construction offer completely safe conditions for snakes and rodents. Partial water and power supplies provide food and shelter without any human disturbance.

Is King Abdullah Sports City a main source of snakes in the district?

Absolutely. The sports complex is a large area with rich wildlife, grass and trees. Snakes move easily from the grounds to adjacent neighbourhoods during feeding periods, especially in breeding season.

Does snake removal work differ between villas and apartments?

Yes significantly. Villas have gardens and outdoor spaces where the snake may hide in many places. Apartments are harder because the snake may be inside walls or sealed pipes, making search much more difficult.

Do fences and short boundary walls protect against snakes?

They do not protect effectively. Snakes climb easily and crawl under weak fences. The damp garden inside the fence is the real problem, not the fence itself.

Can snakes be reduced by cutting irrigation and removing gardens?

Yes, significantly. Reducing watering, removing dense trees and clearing grass noticeably reduces the garden's attraction to rodent colonies. Without abundant rodent prey, snakes will not come.
