The first reason

    A narrow trench at the footing and injection at regular spacing, so the treated band runs continuous with no gap to walk around.

    Drill the joints, inject the timber

    Small holes at spacing along the slab joints, the wall bases and the pipe entries, direct injection into the galleries inside the affected timber, then the holes are closed and made good.

    Bait stations and monitoring

Questions about this district

Is treating one warehouse enough or must the vacant land around it be treated as well?

One warehouse alone is not enough if the surrounding land is wet and may hold old timber. The footing, floor and the ground around the warehouse must all be treated together, because termites may arrive from the open ground beside it and they move easily through the soil.

Do industrial oils and chemical spills stop termites or attract them?

Oils and chemicals do not stop termites but may increase soil moisture and damage drainage lines. Termites do not eat oil but will nest beside it if the soil is wet, so a warehouse next to an oil spill may be at higher risk, not lower.

Is a quick annual inspection of the warehouse enough in Al Sarawat?

No. High moisture and wide open ground mean termites can reach a warehouse quickly. Inspection every six months is better, especially of the footing and the air voids beneath the raised floor.

Why is treating the soil around the warehouse more important than treating the timber itself?

Because termites come from the wet soil first. If you treat the soil and cut the path from ground to timber, the warehouse stays protected even if the internal timber is not treated. But treating only the timber indoors, without the soil, does not stop termites arriving from below.

Do seasonal floods and heavy rains increase termite risk in Al Sarawat?

Yes. Rain increases underground moisture and termites spread far faster. After heavy rains, warehouses must be inspected urgently, because the soil is saturated with water and termites are at their most active.

Does a warehouse beside a main drainage line increase the risk?
