We sound the timber and the skirting, take moisture readings, and follow the tubes to the point where they leave the soil. We also settle the species, because one that lives inside dry wood is not treated like one that lives in the ground.

Treat the soil around the building

A narrow trench at the footing and injection at regular spacing, so the treated band runs continuous with no gap to walk around.

Drill the joints, inject the timber

Small holes at spacing along the slab joints, the wall bases and the pipe entries, direct injection into the galleries inside the affected timber, then the holes are closed and made good.

Bait stations and monitoring

Stations in the soil carrying a slow-acting material the workers pass through the colony by mouth-to-mouth feeding, and we come back to read them, because an empty tube on a wall proves nothing on its own.

Do shops and flats above them need separate treatment plans?

Yes, each building needs its own strategy. Plumbing and drainage differ, moisture distribution is different. We treat the footings of each, then monitor bait stations in each unit independently.

Do small plants and grass strips between buildings attract termites?

They attract them and feed them both. Those plants need constant water and the termites benefit from moisture and organic matter together. Trimming reduces shelter but chemical treatment of soil underneath is essential.

Why did termites return after a previous treatment in this area?

Colonies from adjoining properties may re invade through soil, especially if earlier treatment did not cover the whole building perimeter or missed the gaps between neighbouring structures. Continued monitoring is needed.

Do very small gardens squeezed between villas and flats need special care?

Reducing watering and improving drainage helps, but chemical soil treatment is fundamental, especially along property boundary lines where termite tunnels run between buildings.

Can the whole district be treated at once or must each building be done separately?
