How we work

Survey the roof and the facade

We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

The district is close to historic Jeddah. Does fitting a deterrent affect the heritage?

We do not affect heritage sites. The heritage is protected and we fit deterrents only on your own roof. The historic quarter and this neighbourhood have clear boundaries.

The district mixes old and new buildings. How do you fit both types?

We choose fixings suited to each type. On old stone we use light fasteners, and on new concrete we use strong ones. Each building style needs different treatment.

The flat and shop are stacked. Who approves the deterrent fitting?

The roof owner is responsible. If the roof is shared, we need both owners' approval. We always ask first and never start without clarity from the responsible party.

Old Makkah Road and King Abdulaziz Road are extremely busy. Is work safe?

Work on the rooftops is safe. We fit at set times before morning traffic builds. The busy road does not affect the safety of work on the roof.

Shops and cafes are below the flats. Can pigeons enter?

They can enter the shop. Without roof protection, pigeons enter the flat from below or above both. The roof deterrent stops nesting and entry together.

Bab Sharif and the nearby mosque are close. Does fitting affect them?

We do not affect religious places. We fit only on your private residential roof, away from the mosque and landmarks.
