Survey the roof and the facade

We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

My house is historic stone; will drilling damage it?

Heritage stone is sensitive, and ordinary anchors will harm it. We use special sensitive anchors and fixings that do not penetrate the stone, but some owners prefer consulting a conservation specialist first.

The district is very old and cracks are numerous and deep; will barriers hold?

Deep old fractures may need grout repair first with heritage compatible materials. Once the surface is carefully prepared, the barrier anchors securely, and some ledges need conservation specialist input.

Humidity is high and salt corrodes metal; what material should I use?

Marine grade stainless steel or polymer coated barriers that resist salt spray. Cost is higher and maintenance is necessary, but they protect both heritage and metalwork.

The cemetery adjoins my home; does that attract pigeons?

Cemeteries provide water and shade, and pigeons may forage there. But the narrow streets and markets are the primary pressure point.
