There is an empty plot and building work next to my home. Is that a source?

Often, yes. Empty plots and building sites across the subdivision shelter the American cockroach, and at the first cold spell, or when someone treats there, it moves to the nearest occupied home. We reinforce the outside openings and manholes along your boundary.

My flat is in a block and the neighbours sprayed. Why did roaches come to me?

Because roaches flee a treated flat into the one next door along the drainage pipes and shared service ducts. Treating your flat alone eases it for a while; the better fix is to treat the crossing points between the units so they do not simply return.

The subdivision is new and the drainage is recent. Where do the roaches come from?

New drainage does not mean empty drainage. The manholes and the lines that connect to the street act as a corridor for the American cockroach even in a new subdivision. We follow its route from the bathroom and kitchen out to the external network.
