Cockroach control in Al Mansour Makkah

Al Mansour is one of Makkah's oldest districts, its buildings packed tightly along Prince Mansour Street, with shops, markets and small restaurants below and around them. That gives cockroaches two sources at once: the flats' own kitchens and the premises on the ground floor. The old, shared drainage stacks carry them between floors, so any treatment starts by working out where they climb from.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Mansour

In Al Mansour's older blocks we usually find the cockroaches at the kitchen pipework, where the stack passes from one floor to the next, rather than near the flat's front door. The method is set out in full on our Cockroach control service.

The first reason

Pipes that link the floors

The blocks in Al Mansour were built decades ago, and their drainage runs vertically through every floor. When a neighbour treats his flat alone, the cockroaches simply move along that shared stack into yours. Treating one door in the building is never enough on its own.

The second reason

A shop that never closes below you

Beneath and around the flats of Al Mansour sit shops, market stalls and eating places, and their stored food and waste are a source that never runs dry. Cockroaches climb from the premises below into the kitchen above, which is why we look under the whole building, not at your flat alone.

The third reason

Cracks in old construction

The old walls of Al Mansour have split over the years, and the gaps around pipe penetrations were never sealed. These cracks are the warm shelter a German cockroach hides in by day and lays its eggs in, and without closing them it returns after every spray.

Before treatment

The species and the place decide the method

The drainage in Al Mansour is old and shared: a single vertical stack links the flats to the shops and eating places beneath them. That constant connection between food premises below and homes above gives cockroaches a steady route upward.

A small light brown German cockroach

German cockroach

The commonest in Al Mansour's flat kitchens: small, quick to breed, and able to travel between floors through the shared drainage stacks of these old blocks.

A larger dark cockroach on a wooden surface

American cockroach

Larger, it comes up from the old sewer network and the nearby Al Mansour markets, showing up on ground floors and in bathrooms close to the drains.

An oven and gas hob beneath wooden shelving

Appliance heat

In Al Mansour's crowded flats the appliances stand tight against the wall, and the warmth of a fridge motor or water heater draws cockroaches to the back of them all year.

A kitchen with a fridge; the gap behind it is a classic nest

The gap behind the fridge

The narrow gap behind the fridge is warm, dark and rarely cleaned, and in Al Mansour's small kitchens it is the first place we check.

A tap carrying water droplets

Water before food

A cockroach looks for water before food, and a leak in Al Mansour's old pipework under the sink is enough for it to nest close by.

A dimly lit kitchen at night

What you see at night

One cockroach in your kitchen at night is to be expected; seeing one by day means the harbourage in this old block is crowded and a larger population is close.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and identify

We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.

  2. 2

    Treat the harbourage

Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.

  3. 3

    Close what can be closed

We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.

What cockroach control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded inspection

Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Placed gel bait

In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted spray where needed

On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drain and entry treatment

Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district

The shop below my flat, is treating my flat alone enough?

If the shop or restaurant downstairs is a source, treating your flat eases the symptoms but does not cut off the supply. We trace how they climb through the pipework and gaps, and we advise treating the premises alongside your flat so they do not return from beneath you.

My neighbours sprayed their flats and the roaches came to me, why?

In Al Mansour's old blocks the flats share vertical drainage stacks. When one floor is treated, the cockroaches escape along those pipes into the flat next door. That is why we treat the crossing points between floors, not just the surfaces of your kitchen.

The building is old and cracked, do you seal the gaps?

We locate the cracks around pipes and behind cupboards where cockroaches hide, place bait inside them first, then close what needs closing. Sealing the hiding places in these old walls is a core part of the work, so no shelter is left for the eggs.

Roaches come out of the bathroom drain at night, what do I do?

The American cockroach climbs from the old sewer network into the bathroom outlets. We treat the drain itself and advise a tight cover for the opening and keeping the trap full of water, which blocks the easiest route up from the sewers.

I live near the Al Mansour markets, does that make it worse?

Being close to the markets and shops means a constant source of food and waste next door, which raises the pressure on the surrounding homes. We cannot shut the market down, but we close its ways into your flat and set bait along the path it arrives by.

How do you stop them moving between floors in the building?

We place bait where the pipework passes between floors and seal the gaps around it in each flat. When the residents of a block agree to a treatment at the same time, the route between them is cut, and in old buildings that is the surest fix.

How much does cockroach control in Al Mansour cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Mansour.
