Cockroach control in Al Qashashiyah Al Jadid Makkah

Al Qashashiyah Al Jadid is a planned relocation district south of Makkah, part of Crown Prince plans 7 and 8, its residential blocks new and a central market sitting beside them. That proximity shapes the job here. German cockroaches ride home in shopping bags and market cardboard, while the shared risers in the modern blocks carry them between flats, so treating one flat alone rarely holds.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Qashashiyah Al Jadid

In the blocks nearest the market, we tend to find the first infestation in the kitchen closest to where the shopping comes in, not in some far corner of the flat. The method is set out in full on Cockroach control in detail.

The first reason

The central market keeps restocking the problem

Cardboard and vegetable crates carried up from the market bring German cockroach eggs into the kitchen. Unless the way in is dealt with, the infestation returns however thoroughly we spray inside, because the market resupplies it week after week.

The second reason

Shared risers link one flat to the next

The modern blocks here share drainage and ventilation stacks between floors. Cockroaches move along them from one flat to another, so if yours is treated while the neighbour's is not, they come back through the same openings. The block matters more than the single flat.

The third reason

Old furniture moving into new flats

This is a district many families moved into, bringing older furniture and appliances with them. A second-hand fridge or washing machine can carry eggs hidden in its hinges, so an infestation appears in a clean new flat whose owner assumed it was safe from all this.

Before treatment

The species and the place decide the method

The streets of plans 7 and 8 are newly laid, and the drainage under them is new too, tying each block into fresh sewer lines. American cockroaches climb those lines and surface through floor gullies into the ground-floor flats.

A small light brown German cockroach

German cockroach

It usually arrives with cardboard boxes and grocery bags from the central market, then settles in the flat's kitchen near sources of warmth and moisture.

A larger dark cockroach on a wooden surface

American cockroach

Larger and darker, it climbs from the new drainage beneath the plan's streets and shows up in ground-floor flats and car parks through the floor gullies.

An oven and gas hob beneath wooden shelving

Appliance heat

The fridge and oven in these modern kitchens stay warm through the night, and that warmth draws cockroaches into the motor housing and the electrical board.

A kitchen with a fridge; the gap behind it is a classic nest

The gap behind the fridge

Fitted kitchens leave a narrow slot between the fridge and the wall, dark and warm, where eggs sit out of sight of both eye and broom.

A tap carrying water droplets

Water before food

A cockroach can go days without food but not without water, so we begin the inspection under the sink and around the water heater.

A dimly lit kitchen at night

What you see at night

One cockroach on the tiles after the light goes off usually means dozens hidden in the cracks; the one out in daylight is the exception, not the rule.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and identify

We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.

  2. 2

    Treat the harbourage

Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.

  3. 3

    Close what can be closed

We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.

What cockroach control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded inspection

Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Placed gel bait

In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted spray where needed

On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drain and entry treatment

Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district

Does being near the central market mean more cockroaches?

Yes. The market is a source that keeps refilling: the boxes and produce carried from it bring eggs into the neighbouring blocks. In these flats we focus first on where the shopping comes in and on the kitchen store cupboard, before anything else.

My neighbour treated his flat, will they move to mine?

They can. When a neighbour's flat is treated, cockroaches often travel through the shared drainage and ventilation to yours. That is why we seal the crossing points in the kitchen and bathroom and place bait at the shared openings, not only inside your flat.

I moved into a new flat with my old furniture, what is the risk?

Used furniture and appliances can carry eggs into a sound new building. Before you arrange the flat, we check the back of the fridge and washing machine and the joints of the furniture, and treat them, so no infestation starts in a place assumed to be clean.

I live on the ground floor of the plan, is it different?

The ground floor sits closest to the new drainage, and American cockroaches climb from it through gullies and floor openings. We treat those entry points and set monitors where the pipes discharge, alongside the usual work in the flat's kitchen.

Is the bait safe with children in the flat?

We place the bait in closed runs inside the cracks and behind appliances, out of children's reach, and we use products approved for use in occupied spaces. There is no need to move out of the flat while the work is done.

I'm on an upper floor away from the market, am I safe?

Height is no barrier. German cockroaches climb through the shared pipework, and shopping bags are carried up to the top floors as well. We inspect the upper flats the same way, concentrating on the kitchen and the bathroom.
