Cockroach control in Al Rehab Jeddah

Al Rehab spreads wide between Al Arbaeen Street and the expressway, and its housing does not sit still. Furnished flats near the University of Jeddah colleges change hands most terms, older apartment blocks share their drainage, and quiet villas stand apart. So a German cockroach may arrive with a former tenant's appliance, or climb a shared riser from a neighbour, which is why we trace its source rather than treat one kitchen.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Rehab

In the student flats near the colleges, we usually find the problem started with a used appliance that came in with a previous tenant, not with how clean the flat itself is kept. The method is set out in full on the full Cockroach control page.

The first reason

Furnished flats that change hands

Around the University of Jeddah colleges, furnished flats turn over most terms, and the German cockroach simply stays put in the kitchen drawers and behind the appliances between one tenant and the next. We start from these pockets before they travel back in with the next set of furniture.

The second reason

Shared risers in the blocks, isolated kitchens in the villas

In Al Rehab's apartment blocks a single waste pipe links several flats, so an infestation moves between floors even when your neighbour treats theirs alone. A villa's problem sits closer to its own kitchen and garden. We treat each on its own terms rather than as one job.

The third reason

Shops beneath the homes

The expressway splits the district, and beneath some of its blocks sit shops and market units that put out food waste after dark. That is a standing source feeding the roaches on the upper floors, so we treat it from the ground up, not from your flat alone.

Before treatment

The species and the place decide the method

Near Al Rehab's markets and ground-floor shops, food waste collects in the drains below. From there the American cockroach works its way up through the apartment blocks' shared pipework into the flats above, so a single kitchen is rarely the whole story.

A small light brown German cockroach

German cockroach

Travels in with the second-hand furniture and appliances that fill the furnished student flats, then settles into the small kitchen close to warmth and food.

A larger dark cockroach on a wooden surface

American cockroach

The larger one climbs from the market drains and ground-floor units through the blocks' pipework, showing up in bathrooms and floor drains on the upper storeys.

An oven and gas hob beneath wooden shelving

Appliance heat

In a tight furnished flat the appliances sit side by side, so the roach shelters in the warmth of the fridge, oven and router where heat holds day and night.

A kitchen with a fridge; the gap behind it is a classic nest

The gap behind the fridge

Behind a rented flat's fridge is a warm, rarely cleaned gap that gathers crumbs and egg cases, and it is often where what you see in the kitchen begins.

A tap carrying water droplets

Water before food

Before food a roach needs water, and in Al Rehab's blocks it finds it in a leak under the sink or around a shared bathroom's water heater.

A dimly lit kitchen at night

What you see at night

Spot one on the kitchen wall after the lights go off and the rest are hidden in the cracks; what shows at night is a small part of the count.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and identify

We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.

  2. 2

    Treat the harbourage

Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.

  3. 3

    Close what can be closed

We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.

What cockroach control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded inspection

Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Placed gel bait

In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted spray where needed

On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drain and entry treatment

Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district

I rent a furnished flat near the colleges. How do I check before moving in?

Look through the kitchen drawers and behind the fridge and oven, and along the cupboard edges, for dark specks or shed egg cases. A fast-turnover flat can carry an infestation from a previous tenant, and we treat these spots before you bring your own furniture in.

My neighbours in the block treated their flat. Will the roaches move to me?

They can. When only one flat in a block is treated, the roaches withdraw along the shared pipework into the flats next door. That is why we check the drainage run between floors and, where we can, advise treating together so the infestation does not simply circle between you.

I bought used appliances. Can they bring roaches in?

Often, yes. The German cockroach hides in the motor housing of a fridge and in the boards of an oven or microwave, where it is warm. Before you bring any used appliance into your flat, check inside it; we can treat it locally before you switch it on, so a new infestation never starts.

There is a shop under my building. Is it the source?

In Al Rehab it often is. The shop's drain or its food store feeds the American cockroach, which climbs the pipework into the flats above. We treat the ground floor and the drainage run together, because treating your flat on its own will not close off the source.

My villa has a garden near the expressway. Does that change things?

A villa shares no pipework with neighbours, but its garden, its irrigation drains and its kitchen outlets draw the American cockroach in from outside. We focus on the villa's perimeter, its entry points and the air-conditioning outlets, rather than treating it like a flat inside a block.

The flat is shut through the holidays. Does that make it worse?

When a student flat is closed over the summer with no food in sight, the roaches do not leave; they gather around water leaks and breed quietly. You come back to a larger number, so it is worth checking before you travel and treating any pocket early.

How much does cockroach control in Al Rehab cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Rehab.
