There is a restaurant below my flat. Is treating my flat alone enough?

Treating your flat will bring the numbers down, but it will not stop the source. As long as the restaurant below offers food and warmth, cockroaches will keep climbing. We seal the routes they use to get in and place bait at the entry points, and we advise treating the source if the shop can be coordinated with.

Can cockroaches come in with my shopping from the market?

Yes. The cartons and bags brought back from the storerooms and nearby street markets often carry German cockroach eggs. Unpack your shopping outside the kitchen where you can, get rid of the cartons straight away, and do not store them under the sink where it is warm and damp.

The neighbours treated their flat and the cockroaches fled to us. What now?

This is common in Al Aziziyah's tightly packed blocks: spraying one flat pushes cockroaches along the shared drain lines to the neighbours instead of killing them. The answer is to treat the adjoining flats with the same bait at the same time, and to seal the drain openings between them so nothing can shuttle across.

There is a grocery store next door. Does that make things worse?
