Why they keep coming back in Al Khalidiyah

The district is surrounded by open land, large gardens and densely irrigated landscaping. The walls protect but scorpions and rodents enter from the gardens every night looking for water and food. The pressure is constant and comes from outside in.

The foot of the wall

The wall base is the first line of defence. Strong treatment on the contact line between the wall and open ground outside it, then inside along the full length of the villa's boundary.

Frond and block piles

Frond and block piles are used for landscaping here. Decorative stones and garden ornaments hide scorpions and insects underneath. We inspect them and treat them directly or lift them to expose the soil beneath.

Standing water

Standing water in gardens comes from excess irrigation and fountains. Every small pond breeds mosquitoes rapidly. We focus on cutting excess moisture and discourage night time watering.

The feed store

Feed stores are rare in Al Khalidiyah, but villa storage rooms and stacked hay offer shelters. We inspect and clean them, especially after the dry months when stored materials attract rodents and insects.

Pens and bedding are rare, but pets and horses on some larger plots mean damp shelters and food sources close by. We treat animal shelters carefully and clear accumulated waste around them.

The piles, the rubble, the fallen dates, the feed sacks pushed up against the wall. On any large plot these gather simply because there is room for them, and clearing them brings the numbers down before a single product is used.

The perimeter band and targeted treatment

A band at the foot of the wall and the buildings, treatment into the burrows and cracks, locked rodent stations fixed along the route, and mosquito breeding sites treated in the water itself.

We come back on an agreed schedule, read the same points, renew the band the sun and the irrigation have used up, and write down what was found, what was applied and where, and what the site needs closed.

The wall cuts entry but does not stop it entirely. Scorpions crawl under gates and rodents jump over. Treatment at the wall base outside is as essential as treatment inside the property.

Does the drip-irrigated garden attract insects and rodents?

Yes, constant moisture, grass and plants supply everything they need. Treating the garden perimeter and cutting back plants close to the house cut the pest load significantly.

In a gated compound, does pest control need coordination with other villas?

Yes, the tunnels under shared pavements link the villas. Coordination with neighbours is ideal but strong treatment at your boundary stops new arrivals crossing from neighbouring properties.

What do we do about decorative rocks and stone piles in the garden?

Stone piles and decorative rocks are where scorpions shelter. We treat them directly and lift or remove heavy pieces if possible, especially near the house door.

We have a fountain and permanent water features. Is that a problem?

Yes, standing water draws insects and rodents constantly. We treat around the fountain and drains, and monitor regularly for the insects that gather at water sources.

Are the pests in Al Khalidiyah different from other Jeddah districts?

Yes, the large gardens and open ground attract species that shelter in natural terrain. Scorpions are more common here, desert ants are present, and rodents are often larger than in built up areas.
