We confirm it is fleas rather than another biting insect, and fix the animal's sleeping points, its routes and the shaded ground outside. Where there is no animal in the house, we look for the host they came from.

A residual with an insect growth regulator, worked into the carpet base, the floor and wall junction and the edges under furniture. The regulator stops a larva becoming an adult, which is what breaks the cycle.

We treat the shaded ground and the outdoor lying spots, and we agree with you that the animal's veterinary treatment happens on the same day, because any host left out of the job re-seeds the floor.

Vacuuming, then the follow-up visit

Repeated vacuuming vibrates the floor and draws the pupae out onto a treated surface. We come back about two weeks later to take the emerged generation before it lays.

Is treating the house alone enough if the open plots around me have infested strays?

No. Treating only the house is not enough if stray animals occupy the neighbouring plots directly. You must treat the perimeter around your home and the areas that attract these animals to break the infection cycle.

A building site next to mine works hard all day. Does this increase fleas around me?

Yes. Adjacent building sites increase movement of animals, workers and machinery, all of which carry fleas. The closer the site, the higher the chance fleas reach your home through soil and vegetation.

Can I seal the gaps under the foundation to stop fleas instead of continuous treatment?

Sealing gaps is helpful but not enough alone. Fleas in surrounding soil may find other routes, and chemical treatment is necessary to reduce their numbers in the ground around the house.

How often per year does a newly developed area like Al Qararah need preventive treatment?

In a new district with vacant land and infested surrounding areas, routine treatment is needed every four to six weeks initially. After the first round of control, frequency may decrease depending on conditions and surrounding land management.

Could second-hand furniture bought from outside the new district carry hidden fleas?

Yes. Second-hand furniture is risky if it comes from an infested area. Inspect furniture before bringing it in. If you do bring it, ensure the house is treated just before or immediately after its arrival.
