Mosquito control in Al Adl Jeddah
Al Adl is a small neighbourhood wedged between Old Makkah Road and the Jeddah Makkah Expressway, a mix of flats, villas and busy commercial strips. The district is ringed on three sides by older, denser neighbourhoods, and water and mosquitoes flow into it from these surrounding quarters via shared streets and pipework.

Why they keep coming back in Al Adl
The district is small but its residential and commercial density is high, and all the surrounding old roads fill it with water. Voids beneath streets and around commercial zones are shared with neighbouring districts. The method is set out in full on Mosquito control in detail.
Small district ringed by older, denser neighbourhoods on three sides
Al Adl is surrounded entirely by older quarters: Al Farouq, Al Fadl, Al Muntazahat and North Prince Fawaz. These dense quarters send mosquitoes and cockroaches into Al Adl's streets daily, and the small district receives them all.
Shared roads and pipes blocked with water from higher neighbourhoods
Old Makkah Road and the expressway serve many districts, and pipes beneath them are full of water flowing from higher lying quarters. Other people's water drains into Al Adl.
Commercial strips and restaurants fill narrow voids with constant water
Even in a small area shops, furnished flats and restaurants are dense. All of them fill the tight voids below the street with standing water, and Al Adl has no adequate drainage.
The character of Al Adl
Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them
Mixed housing and commerce in a confined space means water and mosquitoes do not stay penned within the district. Shops below fill pipes with constant water, and flats and villas suffer from leaks from below and contamination from the sides.
Standing water and shade decide the method
Lies between Old Makkah Road to the north and the Jeddah Makkah Expressway to the south in a compact area. Al Farouq borders it to the west, Al Fadl to the east, Al Muntazahat to the north and North Prince Fawaz to the south.
The daytime biter
The daytime biter spreads from surrounding neighbourhoods and shops and voids into villas, apartment buildings and flats within the small district.
The one that comes out after sunset
After sunset the mosquito leaves voids below streets and restaurants and neighbouring quarters to hunt residents in Al Adl.
Air-conditioning condensate
Water from shops and restaurants and neighbouring districts flows into voids beneath the street and into villas and buildings without pause.
The tank and its openings
Tanks in flats and villas in a ringed district may fill from neighbouring water and shared roads, and standing water means constant mosquito breeding.
Garden containers and irrigation
Plant pots and small gardens and drains all collect water because of closeness to commercial zones and high ambient humidity.
The shade it rests in
Shade from commercial strips and villas and apartment buildings and tight voids is where the adult mosquito rests all day.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and map the water
We walk the perimeter, the roof, the garden, the meter chambers and the condensate runs, record everything that holds water, and read the species from the breeding site and the time of biting.
-
2
Remove the water that can go
Empty, invert, cover: saucers, containers, old tyres and roof gullies. Every point that disappears is a treatment that never needs repeating.
-
3
Larval treatment, then the resting surfaces
Water that cannot be drained is treated so the larva never completes, then a residual goes under planting, beneath outdoor furniture and along low shaded walls.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back once the generation that was in the water on the first visit has completed, review every point we recorded and re-treat where needed.
What mosquito control includes
-
A recorded water survey
Roof, perimeter, garden, meter chambers and condensate lines, written down before anything is applied.
-
Draining and covering the sources
Emptying what can be emptied, draining what can be drained, and covering what has to stay full.
-
Larval treatment for the water that stays
For ground tanks, inspection chambers, water features and any permanent water that has to remain.
-
A residual on the resting places
Under trees and shrubs, beneath outdoor furniture and on shaded walls, where the adult sits out the day.
-
Aftercare instructions
What stays inverted, what gets covered, which openings need mesh, and when watering goes back to normal.
-
A scheduled follow-up
A set date after the first treatment, with every recorded water point reviewed and re-treated if the water came back.
What is different about South Sub-Municipality
The South sub municipality runs from the edge of Old Makkah Road down to Al Khumrah and the southern corniche. Dense residential districts sit beside new subdivisions such as Al Sanabil and Al Taawun, warehouse fringes such as Al Saruriyah and Al Sarawat, and an old seaside settlement at Al Quzayn. Open stormwater channels cross the housing, and the warehouses, the vegetable and livestock markets and the nearby Islamic Port and Industrial City give pests shelter, food and year round humidity. Pressure is greatest in the older quarters, where drainage networks are ageing.
Questions about this district
Are older neighbouring districts the main mosquito source for Al Adl?
Yes, greatly. Al Farouq, Al Fadl and Al Muntazahat are older and more problematic. This small ringed district receives water and mosquitoes from every side.
Do commercial strips and restaurants fill underground voids with water?
Yes, and the voids are tight and poorly drained. Restaurant water sits beneath the street and around neighbouring villas.
Are furnished flats in Al Adl unaccounted for like in other areas?
Yes, and worse, because the district is small and water is shared. An empty or uncared flat steals water from an occupied one.
Is treating Al Adl alone enough or must we coordinate with neighbours?
Coordination is better but not practical. Regular treatment of Al Adl itself shields it, but mosquitoes return from neighbouring sides.
Are Old Makkah Road and the expressway mosquito sources for the district?
Both are. Old roads and their pipes fill voids. The district is hemmed in from above and below.
Are mosquitoes worse in Al Adl than in other inner neighbourhoods?
Yes, worse. Small size and encirclement and dense commerce mean higher mosquito pressure than larger districts.
How much does mosquito control in Al Adl cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Adl.
