Why they keep coming back in Al Muntazah

The first reason

Tightly packed apartments create rodent tunnel networks

Apartment buildings with minimal gaps between them provide semi-sealed internal passages for rodents to move freely. Rodents travel from flat to flat through shared walls and exposed ducts, so treating one flat alone does not stop entry from neighbouring units.

The second reason

Shared entrances and stairwells are main highways

A shared entrance serves dozens of flats from one door. Rubbish accumulates at the entrance and in corners. Rodents live in the entrance and stairwell, moving up and down through it into the flats. Sealing the one door may not prevent entry through other windows in the building.

The third reason

Wadi Al Asla and moisture attract insects and rodents

The wadi carries seasonal water and raises the water table beneath. Buildings near it stay damp all year, and moisture supports worms and soil insects that rodents feed on. Rodents near a steady water source are harder to eliminate.

What we read in the building before any bait goes down

Bounded by Hada Al Sham Road and Muawiyah Al Sulami Street, the district has narrow internal streets with worn surfaces. Wadi Al Asla runs along the eastern edge and raises local humidity year round.

The gap under the door in Al Muntazah is particularly critical. The shared entrance serves dozens of flats, so a small gap means safe entry for thousands of potentially affected rodents from the street. Closing it cuts pressure significantly.

Pipe openings between flats are multiple and not always sealed. Shared water and drainage pipes provide direct routes between units. We trace pipes from ground to roof and seal every gap.

The run along walls and stairs is very clear in a tightly built complex. Rodents climb the stair edge and leave dust and droppings trails. We place bait in the middle of their path, not at room edges.

The route from above

The route from above comes through the roof and connecting pipes. Rodents come from roofs of adjoining buildings. The roof is the distribution hub, so we inspect it first then work downward looking for vertical entry.

Water and food available in the entrance, stairwell and flats. Accumulated waste, open drains and leftover food provide a continuous feast. Treatment without shared cleaning may fail.

Inspect and trace the runs

We work the perimeter, the kitchen, the store and the false ceiling, establish the species, the entry points and the water source, and mark the station positions before anything is carried in.

Close the openings

Metal mesh, mortar and base strips at the gaps, around pipe sleeves and at vents, because foam and silicone are gnawed through within days.

Secured bait and traps

Closed stations fixed on the runs outside the building, and traps rather than loose bait indoors, so that anything that dies stays somewhere we can reach.

The follow-up visit

We read the take at each station, replenish what has gone, remove anything found, and close any opening that showed itself once the movement settled.

Questions about this district

Does treating one flat stop rodents entering the whole building?

No. Rodents come from neighbouring flats, the shared entrance and the stairwell. One flat may be cleared but the whole building remains exposed. Treating the entrance, stairwell and flat together gives better odds than treating one flat alone.

Do shared walls between flats allow rodents to pass easily?

Yes. Older walls between flats have cracks and gaps. Rodents pass through them easily. We inspect walls and gaps from both sides of a flat because rodents come from your neighbours.

Why do rodents return after treating one flat?

If neighbouring flats are not treated, rodents from those units re-enter the treated flat. Coordination between occupants for joint treatment works better than treating a single flat in a connected building.

Is rubbish in the shared entrance a main cause of infestation?

Very much so. The shared entrance becomes a dumping ground. Rubbish bags pile up, crumbs scatter and moisture collects. Rodents come to the bait not to a cleaned flat alone.

Are upper floor flats more protected than ground floor ones?

No. Rodents climb walls, pipes and stairs easily. Ground floor and tenth floor are equally exposed in a tightly packed building.

Does Al Muntazah need more frequent preventive visits than other areas?

Yes. Rented flats, shared entrances and high moisture mean constant pressure. Preventive visits every four to six weeks are better than one treatment and waiting for problems to return.
