Why they keep coming back in Al Ajawid

The first reason

The wide gap beneath the main building gate

Older and mid-range apartment buildings in Al Ajawid have substantial gaps under the main gates, and snakes pass directly through into central corridors and then into multiple flats and homes. Closing that gap first is not optional.

Inspect and locate

We work the perimeter, the garden and the service rooms with a torch and a mirror, reading the tracks, the skins and the burrows to establish whether it is still on site and where it came in.

Safe removal

It comes out on a hook and tongs into a closed container and is released away from buildings where that is possible, with no chasing it around a room.

Close the routes, take away the shelter

A strip under the gate, sleeves around pipe entries, tight covers on the floor drains, and the blocks and palm fronds moved off the wall line.

Cut the food, then come back

We treat the rodents and the geckos on the perimeter, then return once that activity has settled to check the sealed points and look for any fresh track.

Perimeter, garden, service rooms and pipe entries, with tracks and skins recorded before anything is applied.

Tight covers on floor drains, sleeves around waste and air conditioning pipe runs, and the weep holes in the boundary wall closed.

Questions about this district

Our flat is above a shop and a snake entered. How did it get in?

The snake climbed from the shop level through gaps in plumbing, electrical conduits and ducting that connect both floors. If the shop is open or houses rodents, the snake moves freely between the levels. Every opening between the first and second floor must be inspected and sealed.

If we close the shop below us, will the snakes stop coming?

Closure alone does not work. A closed shop without maintenance becomes a rodent and insect nest, and snakes follow the food. The shop must be treated inside and its external openings sealed as well, or the pathway remains open.

The flat is new and the gap under the door is tiny. How did it get in?

Snakes thin enough to pass through surprisingly small gaps enter readily. New construction sometimes has poor fit between doors and frames, and gaps smaller than expected are sufficient.

Al Ajawid Park is next to our building. Is that the root cause?

The park provides damp soil, food and shelter for rodents and reptiles alike. Proximity to the park edges increases the likelihood of snakes reaching your building, especially if the structure has large gaps or sits at the park perimeter.

Are homes on Al Ajawid Street more at risk than those inside the district?

Street-facing homes may see more stray rodents and wildlife from the road itself, but gaps and openings determine actual risk, not street location alone.

The Hyper Panda store leaves some waste outside. Does this increase snakes?

Waste attracts rodents first, and snakes follow. If your building sits close to the store and no substantial barrier separates you, the risk is real and present.
