Snake control in Al Qararah Al Jadid Makkah

Al Qararah Al Jadid is a new district within the Crown Prince schemes south of Makkah along the southern extension of Ibrahim Al Khalil Road. Building is ongoing with wide vacant plots and flat open ground. Wadi Uranah runs along one side and Jabal Labanah stands to the north. Snakes arrive directly from the wadi and open ground.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Qararah Al Jadid

Wadi Uranah, the flat open ground and the natural desert habitat around the scheme are purely wild environments that support many natural snakes and rodents. The method is set out in full on our Snake control service.

The first reason

Wadi Uranah and floods after rain

Wadi Uranah runs along the side of the scheme from the south and west. Flash floods after rain carry rodents, insects and snakes. Snakes that shelter in the wadi seek dry refuge and find the new villas attractive. Scattered building eases their entry.

The second reason

Jabal Labanah and desert habitat

Jabal Labanah stands near the north and open ground surrounds the scheme on all sides, providing natural habitat for wild snakes. The wild snake enters the scheme hunting for rodents and the new shelters that the villas provide.

The third reason

New construction with open gaps

Construction is very new and gaps around foundations remain unsealed because the scheme is under development. The snake finds gaps everywhere and moves easily from the wadi and vacant ground directly into the new villa.

What the site tells us before we start

The new development district has scattered construction and residential and commercial plots under development on flat open ground south of Al Mudaa Al Jadid.

A shed snake skin lying on dry ground

A shed skin

Shed snake skin remains in wide vacant areas and large gaps around new villa foundations.

A winding trail across fine sand beside a wall

The track in the sand

Tracks in damp soil from the wadi and irrigation reveal the snake's movement from Wadi Uranah toward the villas.

Concrete blocks stacked against an exterior wall

Block and rubble piles

Piles of sand, concrete blocks and scattered building materials shelter rodents and snakes.

A closed metal gate with a visible gap beneath it

The gap under the gate

Gaps beneath new incomplete villa foundations provide direct entry from the wadi.

A burrow opening in dry soil beside a garden

Rodent burrows

Rodent burrows in open soil across vacant plots extend toward the new villas.

A drip irrigation line leaking onto garden soil

A leaking irrigation line

Irrigation water from new villa tanks leaves damp around foundations that attracts insects and rodents.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and locate

We work the perimeter, the garden and the service rooms with a torch and a mirror, reading the tracks, the skins and the burrows to establish whether it is still on site and where it came in.

  2. 2

    Safe removal

It comes out on a hook and tongs into a closed container and is released away from buildings where that is possible, with no chasing it around a room.

  3. 3

Close the routes, take away the shelter

A strip under the gate, sleeves around pipe entries, tight covers on the floor drains, and the blocks and palm fronds moved off the wall line.

  4. 4

Cut the food, then come back

We treat the rodents and the geckos on the perimeter, then return once that activity has settled to check the sealed points and look for any fresh track.

What snake control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded site inspection

Perimeter, garden, service rooms and pipe entries, with tracks and skins recorded before anything is applied.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drains and entries closed

Tight covers on floor drains, sleeves around waste and air conditioning pipe runs, and the weep holes in the boundary wall closed.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Rodent work around the building

Closed bait stations on the rodent runs, because cutting the prey is what makes the site stop suiting them.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

Perimeter treatment down the food chain

Insects on lit walls hold the geckos, and geckos feed some species, so we treat the chain from the bottom up.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    A perimeter housekeeping list

What to move off the wall line, how low to cut the ground cover, where the lighting sits, and what to do if you see another one.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date to check the sealed points, the rodent stations and any new track in the sand.

The character of Al Qararah Al Jadid

New development: ongoing construction and vacant plots between the homes

In a new development, Wadi Uranah, open ground and scattered building create ideal habitat for wild snakes. Each new home is close to a natural snake source and gaps around its foundation provide direct entry from nature.

Questions about this district

Wadi Uranah runs beside the scheme. Do snakes come directly from the wadi?

Yes, the wadi carries floods and brings rodents and snakes, and flash floods after rain bring large numbers of snakes. Villas on the wadi edge are exposed directly.

The vacant land around my home is vast. Is treating just my house sufficient?

No, vast vacant ground offers many shelters for rodents and snakes. Treating the house stops internal rats but vacant ground remains a source for the next waves.

My house is new and building around us is scattered. Does this mean fewer snakes or more?

Many more, scattered building and open ground provide easy routes for snakes from the wadi and desert habitat. When building completes the numbers may fall.

We found a small snake beside the house. Are there more?

Yes, certainly. Young snakes often precede larger numbers. The wadi and open ground support many wild snakes.

Are the small ravines around the house the source of snakes or is the main wadi the real source?

The main wadi is the primary source, but small ravines offer temporary shelters. Snakes come from the wadi and hide in ravines and vacant plots before entering the house.

Will filling excavations and completing building around the scheme reduce snakes?

Yes, when building completes and ground is finished and excavations are filled, available shelter falls. But if ground stays open and building stalls, snake numbers stay high.
