Snake control in Madain Al Fahd Jeddah

Madain Al Fahd is a mixed residential district framed by Old Makkah Road to the north, Stadium Road to the east, Madain Al Fahd Road to the west and Al Falah Road to the south. Villas and apartment blocks sit near Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium alongside shops, restaurants and neighbourhood mosques. Snakes enter the shops hunting rats then climb into neighbouring flats.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Madain Al Fahd

Mixed commercial, residential and sports uses create abundant food and shelter for rats and snakes throughout the district. The method is set out in full on our Snake control service.

The first reason

Shops and restaurants scattered among villas and flats

Madain Al Fahd has commercial outlets and eating places interspersed with villas and flats. The shops provide rich rat food. Snakes enter shops hunting rats, then move into neighbouring flats through shared gaps and pipes.

The second reason

Closely packed villas and flats with tight gaps

Villas and flats are tightly clustered with very narrow gaps between them. These gaps contain old pipes and wiring. Snakes move easily between residential units following rats.

The third reason

Proximity to the stadium and foot traffic

The district sits close to Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium with constant activity and movement. Waste and scraps feed rats and birds. Snakes follow them into the neighbourhood.

The character of Madain Al Fahd

Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them

In a mixed district, snakes do not distinguish between villas, flats and shops. They are all connected by the same gaps and rat populations. Treating one unit without treating adjacent shops or villas may offer only temporary protection.

Before treatment

What the site tells us before we start

The district is bounded by Madain Al Fahd Road on its west, Al Falah Road on its south, Old Makkah Road on its north and Stadium Road on its east.

A shed snake skin lying on dry ground

A shed skin

Shed skins lie in narrow gaps between villas and flats and inside shops.

A winding trail across fine sand beside a wall

The track in the sand

Tracks on damp shop and restaurant floors show clearly in early morning.

Concrete blocks stacked against an exterior wall

Block and rubble piles

Piles of waste and scraps from eating places feed rats and snakes.

A closed metal gate with a visible gap beneath it

The gap under the gate

Gaps beneath shop doors, flat doors and between units provide routes for snake movement.

A burrow opening in dry soil beside a garden

Rodent burrows

Rat burrows in shared walls between villas, flats and shops are the direct draw.

A drip irrigation line leaking onto garden soil

A leaking irrigation line

Drainage and irrigation pipes leak, creating damp that attracts rats and snakes.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and locate

We work the perimeter, the garden and the service rooms with a torch and a mirror, reading the tracks, the skins and the burrows to establish whether it is still on site and where it came in.

  2. 2

    Safe removal

It comes out on a hook and tongs into a closed container and is released away from buildings where that is possible, with no chasing it around a room.

  3. 3

Close the routes, take away the shelter

A strip under the gate, sleeves around pipe entries, tight covers on the floor drains, and the blocks and palm fronds moved off the wall line.

  4. 4

Cut the food, then come back

We treat the rodents and the geckos on the perimeter, then return once that activity has settled to check the sealed points and look for any fresh track.

What snake control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded site inspection

Perimeter, garden, service rooms and pipe entries, with tracks and skins recorded before anything is applied.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drains and entries closed

Tight covers on floor drains, sleeves around waste and air conditioning pipe runs, and the weep holes in the boundary wall closed.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Rodent work around the building

Closed bait stations on the rodent runs, because cutting the prey is what makes the site stop suiting them.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

Perimeter treatment down the food chain

Insects on lit walls hold the geckos, and geckos feed some species, so we treat the chain from the bottom up.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    A perimeter housekeeping list

What to move off the wall line, how low to cut the ground cover, where the lighting sits, and what to do if you see another one.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date to check the sealed points, the rodent stations and any new track in the sand.

Questions about this district

Restaurants and shops are mixed among villas and flats. Does this increase snakes?

Yes significantly. Shops and restaurants provide abundant rat food. Snakes follow rats. Mixed residential and commercial means many more snakes.

Are the first occupied villas much more at risk than later villas in the district?

Yes. Villas closest to shops and main streets receive snakes first. Later villas may receive snakes from neighbouring villas if untreated.

Is treating just our villa enough if vacant land around us is full of rats?

Treating your villa protects it from snakes inside. But vacant land stays a source of new arrivals. Comprehensive treatment of surrounding gaps is necessary.

Does Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium beside the district attract more snakes?

Yes. The stadium, activity and movement create waste and scraps that feed rats and birds. Snakes follow them.

Does Taibah Mosque beside the home increase snake problems?

Mosques do not directly attract snakes, but gaps and rats around one may. The mosque may also offer shelter.

If we treat our flat alone but shops below are full of rats, will snakes still come?

Treating your flat protects it from snakes inside. But shops below remain a snake source. Comprehensive treatment must include shops and shared gaps.

How much does snake control in Madain Al Fahd cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Madain Al Fahd.
