Inspect and trace

We sound the timber and the skirting, take moisture readings, and follow the tubes to the point where they leave the soil. We also settle the species, because one that lives inside dry wood is not treated like one that lives in the ground.

Treat the soil around the building

A narrow trench at the footing and injection at regular spacing, so the treated band runs continuous with no gap to walk around.

Drill the joints, inject the timber

Small holes at spacing along the slab joints, the wall bases and the pipe entries, direct injection into the galleries inside the affected timber, then the holes are closed and made good.

Bait stations and monitoring

Stations in the soil carrying a slow-acting material the workers pass through the colony by mouth-to-mouth feeding, and we come back to read them, because an empty tube on a wall proves nothing on its own.

Questions about this district

Can termites enter the building from the garden via tree roots?

Yes, termites use tree and shrub roots as protected routes to the footing, especially if the trees are mature and close to the house. Dead trees and old root systems must be removed from around the footing, and living plants must not touch the walls.

Does daily garden watering increase the termite problem significantly?

It increases moisture around the footings substantially and keeps the termite route open year round. The area close to the footing must be clear of planting and kept dry, and irrigation must be kept well away from the house walls.

Is treatment very different for a villa with gardens versus one without?

Yes, very different. A villa with irrigated gardens requires treatment around shrubs, the full fence line and footings buried in soil. A villa without gardens is much simpler because termites find no moisture to ease their entry.

Do large mature trees in the park pose a risk to neighbouring villas?

Trees in the park do not directly affect a villa at distance, but the damp ground and dense planting provide a safe termite habitat in the park itself. They may spread to nearby villas if their footings are close to the garden boundary.

Must we treat the soil beneath the garden or only around the footing edge?

Yes, soil beneath the garden must be treated to adequate depth in a wide zone around the footing. Termites may live anywhere in the garden and approach from any direction, so protection must be complete around the house.

How often must Al Fayha properties be treated because of gardens and irrigation?

Regular monitoring is essential, and we read bait stations every two months at minimum. High moisture and permanent planting mean colonies may return from other directions if we do not monitor consistently.
