Why they keep coming back in Al Fayha

Scheduled irrigation in early morning and evening leaves the ground saturated for several hours, and sandy soil drains slowly, leaving small water pools under every planted area. The method is set out in full on our Mosquito control service.

The first reason

Irrigation systems, sprinklers and pooling water

Each villa has its own irrigation system; sprinklers leave small pools beneath them and pipe joints leak constantly. These pools dry in hot weather but linger for days in high humidity, becoming perfect incubators where mosquitoes complete a breeding cycle in days.

The second reason

Al Fayha Park, visitor traffic and standing water

The public park draws hundreds daily, and public restrooms, excess water and wet grass create a rich breeding ground. Mosquitoes from the park spread easily to neighbouring homes, especially at dusk when adults become active.

The third reason

Private gardens, plant containers and small pools

Most villas in Al Fayha have a small garden and potted plants, perhaps a small paddling pool or garden urns. Each holds water, and containers are often forgotten for weeks, especially hanging pots and the saucers beneath them.

Before treatment

Standing water and shade decide the method

A planned residential district near Prince Majid Road and King Abdullah Road holding villas and apartment buildings with ground-floor shops, centred on the Old Airport Park and Al Fayha Park and neighbouring East Baghdadiyah, Al Naseem and Al Sulaymaniyah. Regular watering leaves damp ground for hours daily.

The daytime-active mosquito in Al Fayha hides under dense plant foliage, flower beds and the permanent shade of large trees; we spray these spots just before midday.

Inspect and map the water

We walk the perimeter, the roof, the garden, the meter chambers and the condensate runs, record everything that holds water, and read the species from the breeding site and the time of biting.

Remove the water that can go

Empty, invert, cover: saucers, containers, old tyres and roof gullies. Every point that disappears is a treatment that never needs repeating.

Larval treatment, then the resting surfaces

Water that cannot be drained is treated so the larva never completes, then a residual goes under planting, beneath outdoor furniture and along low shaded walls.

The follow-up visit

We come back once the generation that was in the water on the first visit has completed, review every point we recorded and re-treat where needed.

Questions about this district

Is treating only my private garden enough, or should the public park be treated too?

Mosquitoes come from every water source nearby; the park is a constant source and open to people. We treat your garden thoroughly and urge you to report standing water in the park, but treating your garden alone will stop the greater part of your problem.

Should I turn off the irrigation system during treatment, or leave it running?

We ask you to stop irrigation at least an hour before we treat the garden so the surface dries a little and our spray sticks better. After several hours of treatment you can resume irrigation as normal.

Are empty pots and saucers under potted plants a major source?

Yes, even empty pots hold rainwater, and saucers beneath full pots are a leading source. We inspect all of them and treat water inside them, or advise emptying them daily.

Does draining a small paddling pool weekly and refilling it stop the mosquitoes?

Draining weekly is good practice but small pools often form around the pool from leaks. We treat water pooling around the pool and spray surfaces nearby.

Do mosquitoes decrease in the dry season or persist year round?

Regular irrigation means water stays available even in the dry summer, so mosquitoes never leave your garden. Numbers surge after rain but they never disappear.

How often should I arrange treatment during hot summer and high humidity?

In summer with high humidity you may need treatment weekly or every two weeks instead of every three weeks in other seasons. We adjust the schedule based on the numbers you observe.

How much does mosquito control in Al Fayha cost?
