The second reason

Deep foundations and fractured bedrock

New foundations are carved very deep into stone. Excavation cracked the rock and left crevices. Ants use these cracks as passages inward. Treating fractured rock is complicated and requires engineering caution.

The third reason

High-rise towers and many storeys to climb

Tall buildings offer space and ants climb easily from ground to roof. Water lines and drains act as highways. Treating a single tower takes time and coordination across many floors.

Do Al Rawabi ants come from the mountain tunnels below?

Yes, absolutely. The tunnels are damp and dark and ants nest there by the millions. They climb from the tunnels into the new foundations. Treating the tunnels themselves is beyond our scope, but sealing entry at the foundation level is essential.

Does treating one flat stop the ants or must we treat the whole tower?

Treating one flat stops ants briefly only. They come from the tunnels under the building. Treating the whole building or at least the lower floors and foundations is more effective.

Is dampness from tunnels under the building a permanent problem?

Yes. Tunnels are always damp and moisture reaches the foundations. That means ants will always return. Preventive periodic treatment is better than trying complete eradication.

Can the tunnels be closed or sealed?

Closing tunnels is beyond our scope. But if the owner can seal the tunnel entrance at foundation level, that stops ants permanently.

Do all towers in Al Rawabi have the same ant species or different types?

Tunnels hold different ant types. Some seek moisture and some seek food. A single building may have multiple species.
