Questions about this district

Does our ground floor majlis need checking if it's only used for naps?

Yes. Any seat or sofa used for long sitting or an afternoon nap can harbour bed bugs even if it is not a permanent bedroom, so we check the majlis seams along with the rest of the bedding on a visit.

Our villa shares a security gate with other villas in the compound, can bed bugs travel through it?

The gate itself is not the danger, but furniture and bags passing through it between villas can carry bed bugs if they are not checked before entering a house, so we look at what comes through it.

We bought chairs at Souq Al Khalidiyah left in the sun for days, is that enough to kill bed bugs?

Sun alone is not enough, since bed bugs survive ordinary heat and hide inside the seam of the fabric, so we check a piece before it comes into the house rather than relying on how long it sat in the souq.
