An upmarket villa with a large irrigated garden provides permanent natural food. Plants, grass and water attract worms and insects, and rodents that feed on them. Rodents come from the street and neighbouring gardens to feed, then enter the house when an opportunity appears.

The second reason

High walls and narrow gates do not stop rodents

High boundary walls protect from people but rodents dig beneath them or climb over. Gates are tight for vehicles but rodents pass through small gaps underneath. A walled garden does not mean protection from rodents.

Adjoining villas and the gaps between them ease migration

The route from above comes through roofing and upper pipes. Rodents reach from neighbouring villa roofs. The gap between roofs may be small and rodents jump easily. We inspect ceilings and exposed beams.

Questions about this district

Is the irrigated garden the only reason for rodent infestation?

No, but it is a main driver. The garden provides natural food that attracts rodents and insects. Without irrigation infestation is less. But if watering stops, rodents may move inside looking for alternative food.

Does a high boundary wall protect against rodent entry?

No. Rodents dig beneath walls or climb over them easily. Walls protect from people but not from rodents. Real protection comes from sealing entry points and guarded gardens.

Why do rodents return to villas after treatment despite the wall?
