Bed bug control in Mughammas Makkah
Mughammas is open land on the eastern edge of Al Sharai, caught between warehouses and loading yards on one side and the green wadi that Makkah families use for picnics and camping on the other, so homes here sit closer to freight movement and weekend camping than to a closed residential estate, and that changes where bedding actually comes from before it reaches a bed.

Why they keep coming back in Mughammas
Visiting Mughammas, we notice the rest room attached to a family workshop often gets skipped during a routine check, even though its bedding is used just as regularly as any bedroom in the house. The method is set out in full on our Bed bug control service.
A bedroom attached to the workshop
Many Mughammas homes have a workshop or small warehouse attached, with a rest room that carries a permanent bed rather than a fold out mat. That bedding falls inside the inspection exactly like any bedroom, because bed bugs make no distinction between a workspace and a place to sleep.
Flood damp against the outer wall
Homes sitting close to the Wadi Al Mughammas channel pick up extra damp after every flood, and that damp sometimes reaches the outer wall of a bedroom. We give the beds pushed against that wall a closer check than the rest of the room.
Camping bedding coming back from the green wadi
Many Mughammas families, and neighbours from around it, head to Al Wadi Al Akhdar to camp at weekends. Whatever bedding, blankets and sleep mats come back with them are worth checking before they go into the cupboard or straight back onto a bed.
Mughammas on the map
Mughammas sits about 2.5 km from Kawthar and about 3 km from Tarwiyah.
Open in Google MapsThe places that decide the treatment
Heavy rain sends floodwater down the Wadi Al Mughammas channel, and homes built close to its course pick up damp along outer walls, which slows how quickly stored bedding and furniture near those walls actually dry out.
The mattress seam
In the rest rooms attached to workshops, the mattress seam collects dust blown in from the surrounding open yards, which makes it easier for bed bugs to stay hidden from an ordinary glance.
Frame joints and screw holes
Beds carried in from the loading yards, or brought back from a camping trip, often arrive with looser joints and screw holes, which a quick glance easily passes over.
The headboard and the wall behind it
In homes that sit close to the wadi channel, the wall behind the headboard often shows old damp marks before it shows any sign of the insect itself.
What the bedding shows
Bedding in workshop rest rooms often shows the marks of irregular, occasional use, which calls for closer reading than a bed slept in every night.
Sofas and armchairs
The sitting rooms of homes near the warehouses see a steady stream of drivers and visitors, so the upholstered seating needs the same attention as the bedroom.
Luggage and second hand furniture
Second hand furniture arriving from the loading yards, and camping bags coming back from Al Wadi Al Akhdar, both enter the house by a different route to new furniture and deserve their own check.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and map the spread
We strip the bed and work through the mattress and base seams, the frame joints, the headboard and the skirting, then check the upholstered furniture and the neighbouring rooms to see how far it has gone.
-
2
Laundry, heat and steam
Bedding is bagged and sealed inside the room, then washed and dried hot. Steam runs along the seams and edges, because heat reaches the cemented eggs that a liquid never will.
-
3
Targeted, non-repellent application
A non-repellent product goes onto the harbourage itself, with a dust into voids and screw holes. We do not use a repellent aerosol, because it drives the insect deeper into the wall and into the next room.
-
4
Monitoring and the follow-up visit
A sealed encasement goes onto the mattress and the base, with monitors under the bed legs, then we return once the remaining eggs have hatched and re-treat anything still active.
What bed bug control includes
-
A recorded inspection
Mattress and base seams, frame joints, the headboard, the skirting and every upholstered piece in the room.
-
Steam and targeted application
Steam along the seams and edges, and a non-repellent product on the harbourage itself, not on the surfaces you sleep on.
-
Voids and pipe entries
Behind the skirting, around pipe entries and under socket plates, which is the route from one unit to the next.
-
Monitors under the bed legs
Checked at every visit, they show remaining activity before the bites do.
-
Laundry, encasement and aftercare
The hot wash and dryer routine, a sealed encasement on the mattress and base, and what must not be carried out of the room.
-
A follow-up timed to the hatch
A date set on the hatch, and re-treatment of anything still active.
Landmarks of Mughammas
Mughammas homes spread out between Wadi Al Mughammas, known locally as Al Wadi Al Akhdar, and Hamid Al Qathami Mosque, and technicians use the mosque as a gathering point before reaching the houses that sit closest to the wadi's course.

Questions about this district
Our workshop has a rest room attached to the house, does its bedding need checking too?
Yes, any bedding actually slept on counts, whether it's in the workshop rest room or in the house itself. Bed bugs don't distinguish between the two.
Does Wadi Al Mughammas flooding near our outer wall affect the beds against that wall?
The damp the floodwater leaves on the outer wall sometimes reaches the bedding against it, so we give those beds extra attention during inspection and treatment.
We camp most Fridays at Al Wadi Al Akhdar, does our bedding need checking after every trip?
Yes. Bedding and blankets used for camping in the open are exposed to different conditions from a bedroom, so it's safer to check them before they go back onto the bed or into the cupboard.
Trucks unload second hand furniture at the nearby warehouse yard, does that raise our risk?
A loading yard nearby doesn't mean automatic transfer, but any piece of furniture that comes from that yard into our house is worth checking before use, especially anything upholstered.
Our new house is built on raw land in Mughammas, does its brand new furniture need checking?
Completely new furniture rarely carries bed bugs, but the truck or warehouse it passed through before reaching us might be enough to carry them, so a first check for peace of mind does no harm.
The nearby warehouse guard sometimes borrows a spare mattress from us, should we check it when it's returned?
Yes, any bedding that leaves the house and comes back is worth a quick check before it goes back into the cupboard, especially if it was used somewhere else even for one night.
How much does bed bug control in Mughammas cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Mughammas.
