The park continuously attracts pigeons, especially when visitors drop food scraps. The district is ringed by food sources within very close range.

The second reason

Al Laith Road and the Industrial City and their commercial activity

Al Laith Road to the north has shops and restaurants with heavy commercial traffic. The Industrial City to the west has warehouses and workshops that discard refuse and food scraps. Pigeons feed on street refuse and industrial waste and return to the district to roost.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

Questions about this district

Al Sanabil Park is very close to the villa. Do pigeons come from the park daily?

Yes, absolutely. The park is their main water and food source. Pigeons raid your villa from the park at dawn and return there at dusk. Fitting a deterrent cuts part of their daily cycle but the park will still attract others.

Al Laith Road is extremely busy with traffic and people. Is fitting the deterrent facade safe?

Yes, we fit deterrents on roofs and upper ledges well away from the street. We may coordinate if fitting requires work on the front facade facing the road, but the work is completely safe.

The Industrial City borders the west with workshops and refuse. Does that attract pigeons?

Very much. The Industrial City is a constant refuse and food scrap source for pigeons. Some nest permanently in warehouses and workshops and move to the district to rest. The district will remain pigeon attractive while the Industrial City operates.

Al Huda, Al Ajawid and Al Taawun surround Al Sanabil. Do pigeons migrate between them?

Yes, very easily. Closely spaced districts make it hard to stop pigeon movement. For a lasting fix, consider coordinating treatment with your neighbours. A single treatment may not hold long.

Al Usaimi and Al Rida Mosques are in the district. Do pigeons nest in them?

Mosques typically have ledges and roofs attractive to pigeons. If a mosque has pigeon problems, that requires separate treatment. Treating your home reduces the pigeon population, benefiting the mosques too.

Al Sanabil Primary Care Centre is near the home. Can pigeons enter it?

Health centres are normally sealed for climate control and pigeons do not enter. But birds may land on the roof and shed parasites. Deterrents on your home reduce the district pigeon population, benefiting the centre as well.
