We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

How do you remove a nest built directly above the water tank on our roof?

We access the roof and identify nesting positions separately from simple perching spots, remove the nest and droppings carefully, treat any parasites left behind, then fit a solid deterrent to the tank edge itself that matches its width and height.

Our flat is above a restaurant complex with open kitchens. Is that why pigeons nest on our balcony?

Yes, restaurant waste below draws pigeons to your level, but fitted deterrents stop them from perching and building there. We recommend daily clearing of balconies and roofs of food debris, and that kitchen staff below manage their waste and water carefully.

The building is only five years old. Why do birds find places to nest on modern construction?

New flat roofs and horizontal ledges are smooth and easy to land on, and gaps between air conditioning units and pipework make natural nest sites. If the facade is still incomplete or unfinished, birds find even more openings.

Will installing a deterrent damage the roof waterproofing or puncture the membrane?

Properly fitted deterrents do not pierce the roof or damage the seal. We use fasteners and bases that attach to the existing frame or ledge itself without drilling through the waterproof layer.
