Survey the roof and the facade

We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

Questions about this district

The garden is watered year round; should I reduce watering to deter pigeons?

Reducing watering may help but may not solve it completely. Al Rashidiyah Park is also watered and pigeons will come from there. Better to fit deterrents on the villa ledges and balconies instead.

My villa sits next to Al Rashidiyah Park; do pigeons migrate from the park to the villa?

Yes. Pigeons spend time in the park then move to neighbouring villas testing ledges and balconies. Villas close to the park and walkway are more exposed.

The villa is large with gardens on every side; are there many ledges to treat?

Yes. A large villa with multiple sides may have four or five different facades. Each may have ledges and balconies where pigeons nest. We measure each facade and calculate the cost.

The villa is modern and the ledges are clean; why do pigeons come?

Modern villas have attractive ledges and architectural features, gardens and water nearby. Pigeons test any new villa looking for nesting spots. Cleanliness does not stop them.

Is Al Sulaymaniyah Park close to Rashidiyah; are there pigeons there?

No. Al Sulaymaniyah Park is in a different neighbourhood, distant. Rashidiyah pigeons come from Al Rashidiyah Park itself, local landscaping and neighbouring districts.

Wadi Mudarraja is seasonal; do new pigeons come every rainy season?

Yes. The wadi holds water after rain and pigeons come to drink. New pigeons may arrive every season. You may need seasonal maintenance or improved deterrent systems.
