Cockroach control in Al Naseem Makkah
Al Naseem is a newer planned district in eastern Makkah, where villas with gardens sit on the same organised streets as blocks of flats, out near the Fourth Ring Road. That mix changes the job. A cockroach reaches a villa through its garden and the street manholes; it reaches a flat through the shared risers between floors. So we read the building before we treat it.
-
Targeted, not broadcast
Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.
-
Told before we start
What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.
-
A follow-up visit
We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.
-
Homes and businesses
Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.
Why they keep coming back in Al Naseem
In the new villas of Al Naseem, the first cockroaches we find have usually arrived in a moving carton or a piece of second-hand furniture, not started in the kitchen itself. The method is set out in full on how we approach Cockroach control.
New homes, old furniture
The subdivision is new, but the furniture and appliances that fill it are carried in from earlier homes or bought used. German cockroaches ride in with them and settle into a spotless kitchen, breeding inside the cupboard runners long before anything is seen on a worktop.
The villa garden as a water source
Villas in Al Naseem come with gardens and drip irrigation. American cockroaches live in the damp soil and the irrigation chambers, then push in through the ground-floor threshold and the majlis nearest the garden, hunting water cooler than the heat outside. Treating the kitchen alone leaves that door open.
A detached villa and a flat in a block
On the same street, a villa closes on itself while a block of flats shares one set of rising pipes. Treatment in the villa stops at its walls; in a flat, cockroaches can return from a neighbour who never treated theirs. So we handle each in a different way, and say which one you have.
The species and the place decide the method
The blocks here are relatively new, so the drainage and street manholes along the planned roads are still clear, easy runs. American cockroaches climb them up to ground floors, looking for the moisture that Makkah's dry heat drives them indoors to find.
German cockroach
In Al Naseem it usually arrives inside the moving cartons and used appliances brought into new villas and flats, then settles into the warmth of the kitchen cupboards.
American cockroach
It climbs from the new manholes along the subdivision's streets and shows up on ground floors and in gardens well before it reaches the upper flats.
Appliance heat
Makkah's heat pushes it toward the coolest corner, yet it stays close to the fridge motor and the oven, where the warmth holds steady day and night.
The gap behind the fridge
In the new kitchens here the gap behind the fridge stays dark, warm and damp, which is the first place we check at the first sign.
Water before food
In Makkah's dryness water is the strongest draw, so we start at its sources: the kitchen sink, the air-conditioning drain and the garden irrigation, before any crumbs.
What you see at night
A single cockroach crossing the kitchen floor at night in a new villa usually means a settled nest in a void that has not been opened yet.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and identify
We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.
-
2
Treat the harbourage
Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.
-
3
Close what can be closed
We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.
What cockroach control includes
-
A recorded inspection
Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.
-
Placed gel bait
In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.
-
Targeted spray where needed
On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.
-
Drain and entry treatment
Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.
-
Aftercare instructions
Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.
-
A scheduled follow-up
A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.
Questions about this district
We just moved into a new villa in Al Naseem, so where are the cockroaches coming from?
Usually not from the building itself, but from what came in with you: moving cartons, second-hand furniture, an old appliance. One German cockroach and its egg case is enough to start a nest in a brand-new kitchen, so we check what entered the house most recently before we look at the walls.
Does the villa garden and drip irrigation have anything to do with it?
Yes. Damp soil, irrigation chambers and drip lines are ideal for the American cockroach, and from there it enters the ground floor through thresholds and doors that open onto the garden. We treat the moisture points out in the garden the same way we treat them inside the house.
I live in a flat in a block here, not a villa, so is the treatment different?
Yes. A flat shares rising pipes and one drainage run with the rest of the block, so cockroaches can come back from a neighbour's untreated flat. We treat yours and seal the shared pipe openings they travel through, which a detached villa simply does not need.
I see big cockroaches near the street manholes, what should I do?
Those are usually American cockroaches coming up from the new drainage network under the subdivision's roads. Spraying inside the kitchen alone will not solve it. We treat the nearby manholes and tighten the thresholds and floor gullies they use to get into the house.
Our majlis is on the ground floor by the garden, is it the most exposed?
Yes, because it is the closest point to the garden's moisture and its outside doors. We concentrate on the door thresholds, floor corners and air-conditioning outlets on the ground floor, since those are the American cockroach's ways in before it climbs to the rest of the villa.
There is vacant land and an unfinished building next to us, does that make it worse?
Yes. Empty plots and stalled construction on the edge of the subdivision near the ring road collect moisture and waste, and cockroaches cross from there to the nearest occupied home. We take that into account and secure the side of your house that faces them.
How much does cockroach control in Al Naseem cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Naseem.
