Very much. The restaurant kitchen is a permanent source, and cockroaches climb to you through the shared drainage and service stairs. We treat your flat and seal the routes up, but while the source below continues a follow-up visit is needed to close off what keeps arriving.

I rent a furnished flat, is anything different?

Furnished flats sit amid a lot of guest and furniture movement, and eggs can arrive with a suitcase or a second-hand sofa. We check the drawers and the voids behind the fixed furniture first, since those are the most likely hiding places rather than the open kitchen.

Is treating my flat alone enough in the tower?

If the source is a shop or restaurant sharing your drainage stack, treating your flat lowers the numbers but does not shut the route. It works better to treat the connecting points in the stairwell and the light well too, not the flat in isolation.

The basement car park is full of big roaches, what now?

Those are usually American cockroaches rising from the parking gullies. We treat the inspection chambers and drains and seal the pipe openings at ground level, so they cannot find a path up to the residential floors above.

My balcony faces the restaurant street and the bins, does that count?

Yes. Restaurant bins near the building draw cockroaches to the façade and into the balcony drain. We check and seal the drain outlets and the sliding-door frame, which is the most overlooked way in from a balcony.

I get a lot of deliveries and cardboard, does that spread them?

Corrugated cardboard is both shelter and carried eggs at once. Delivery boxes from the nearby restaurants and shops are one of the commonest ways the German cockroach enters a flat. Unpack and get rid of the cardboard outside the kitchen straight away.
