Cockroach control in Al Rusayfah Makkah

Al Rusayfah is a newer grant-land subdivision on the Third Ring Road, west of Makkah, where finished flats are already lived in while the plots beside them are still being dug and built. That mix of occupied blocks, open ground and freshly laid drainage pushes the American cockroach up out of the sewers into the nearest ground-floor units, so the source is usually next door, not far off.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Rusayfah

On the ground floors near inspection covers we see more of the large American cockroach, while the German cockroach complaints come from flats whose residents have just moved in with second-hand furniture and appliances. The method is set out in full on how we approach Cockroach control.

The first reason

Ground that is still being built

The grant-land plots next door are still being excavated, and the drainage serving them is brand new. That work drives the American cockroach out of open sewers towards the nearest occupied block, where it enters the ground-floor units through floor drains and around door thresholds.

The second reason

New homes, second-hand kitchens

Most flats in Al Rusayfah have only just been occupied, and residents move in fridges, ovens and furniture bought used. The German cockroach rides inside those appliances during the move, so it reaches a spotless new kitchen without ever crossing the doorstep from outside.

The third reason

Matching blocks, shared risers

The housing here is laid out in identical blocks that put flats and medical suites on the same pipe runs and service shafts. The German cockroach travels those vertical voids from one unit to the one above, which is why treating a single flat without its neighbours rarely holds.

Before treatment

The species and the place decide the method

Across the grant-land plots, sewer lines and inspection covers are still being laid, and some connections sit open on the plots under construction. That gives the American cockroach a direct run from the drains into the occupied blocks next to them.

A small light brown German cockroach

German cockroach

The German cockroach reaches Al Rusayfah's new flats hidden inside a used fridge or washing machine the new resident brought in, not by crawling from outside.

A larger dark cockroach on a wooden surface

American cockroach

The larger American cockroach climbs from the new sewer lines and inspection covers on the plots under construction into the neighbouring ground-floor units.

An oven and gas hob beneath wooden shelving

Appliance heat

The new kitchens here run modern appliances, and the warmth of a fridge or oven motor gives the German cockroach a heated corner to lay its eggs out of sight.

A kitchen with a fridge; the gap behind it is a classic nest

The gap behind the fridge

The tight fitted kitchens in these new flats leave a warm, dark gap behind the fridge, and it is the first place we check because the egg cases favour it.

A tap carrying water droplets

Water before food

In a new flat a fresh tap connection can weep a single drop, and that drop is enough for a cockroach before any food, so we follow the water first.

A dimly lit kitchen at night

What you see at night

One cockroach on the kitchen wall at night, in a ground-floor flat near an inspection cover, usually means a nest in the voids rather than a passing visitor.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and identify

We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.

  2. 2

    Treat the harbourage

Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.

  3. 3

    Close what can be closed

We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.

What cockroach control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded inspection

Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Placed gel bait

In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted spray where needed

On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drain and entry treatment

Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district

A plot next to me is still being built. Does that matter?

Yes. The digging and drainage work on the plots nearby force the American cockroach out of the sewers, and it heads for the closest occupied building. We focus on the floor drains and the ground-floor rooms facing the site, and seal the points where it gets in.

I just moved in with used furniture. What should I check?

Pull out the fridge and washing machine and check the motor housing and the door hinges, as these are where the German cockroach hides during a move. Tell us what you brought in recently so we start there, because in new flats the source is usually an appliance from a previous home.

My flat is new and clean, so why are there cockroaches?

A new, clean building does not rule out an infestation. In Al Rusayfah the cockroach usually arrives through the fresh drainage tied to a nearby building site, or inside a used appliance. The problem is about water and entry points, not about how clean you keep the place.

I live above a medical suite. Does that change things?

It can. In these blocks the flats and clinics often share the same service shafts and vertical pipe runs. A cockroach can climb from one floor to another through them, so we trace the shared connections and do not treat your unit on its own.

A neighbour in my block treated their flat. Is that enough for me?

Often not. When one flat in an identical block is treated on its own, the German cockroach moves through the shared pipework into the unit next door. It is better to coordinate treatment across the block, or at least seal the crossing points between you and your neighbour.

My flat is on the ground floor near a drain cover. What is needed?

Ground-floor flats near inspection covers in Al Rusayfah are more exposed to the American cockroach coming up from the network. We treat the floor drains and traps and seal the door edges, because the insect comes in from below rather than from inside the flat.

How much does cockroach control in Al Rusayfah cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Rusayfah.
