It arrives with deliveries and guests' bags on a hotel floor, then crosses into the flats, so we track it through the whole building rather than one unit.

The tall towers here collect every floor's drainage into shared vertical stacks, and the American cockroach climbs them from the basement upward. Treat a single flat while the riser openings stay open and you leave it a route back, so within days it returns from the same pipe.

My flat is below a pilgrim hotel floor. Could that be the source?

Often it is. Hotel floors take in fresh guests and luggage constantly, and any nest in their kitchen or laundry migrates down to the flats below through pipes and joints. Where access allows, we inspect both the hotel floor and your flat together so the problem does not simply return.

We let the flat to pilgrims for short stays. How do we keep it clear between guests?

The quick turnover brings bags from many countries that can carry eggs. We seal the openings around pipes and the kitchen and place bait at the fixed hiding points, because that treatment keeps working as one guest follows another, with no need to empty the flat each time.

There is a restaurant under our building. Does it affect the upper flats?
