Cockroach control in Al Umrah Al Jadidah Makkah

Al Umrah Al Jadidah is a growing district off Madinah Road near the Fourth Ring Road, where new villas and flats sit alongside wide vacant plots. That mix shapes the job: American cockroaches arrive from the open drains and bare ground outside, while German cockroaches reach clean new kitchens hidden in furniture and appliances brought in when people move.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Umrah Al Jadidah

In the newer buildings here, we often find cockroaches entering through pipe penetrations that were never properly sealed after construction, rather than breeding inside the kitchen itself. The method is set out in full on what Cockroach control involves.

The first reason

New buildings, gaps left open

Fresh construction is not the same as sealed construction. Pipe penetrations, floor drains and gaps around new plumbing stay open after the finish work is done, so cockroaches move into villas and flats before the residents have even settled in.

The second reason

Vacant ground right against the homes

The wide unbuilt plots carry old drains, dumped waste and water that stands after rain. From there the American cockroach migrates to the nearest occupied building, reaching ground-floor units first and pushing indoors hardest when the heat peaks.

The third reason

Furniture and appliances that move in

A growing district means a constant flow of new arrivals. Second-hand furniture and relocated appliances can carry German cockroach egg cases into a spotless new kitchen, so the problem starts from inside the home rather than from the drains.

Before treatment

The species and the place decide the method

The broad undeveloped plots between buildings leave open drains and standing water after rain, an ideal breeding ground for the American cockroach before it crawls into the nearest ground-floor homes.

A small light brown German cockroach

German cockroach

The German cockroach reaches these new flats inside relocated furniture and appliances, then hides in kitchen cabinets and drawer seams close to a source of warmth.

A larger dark cockroach on a wooden surface

American cockroach

The American cockroach is the larger one, arriving from the drains of the vacant plots and outdoor manholes and climbing up floor gullies into nearby ground-floor units.

An oven and gas hob beneath wooden shelving

Appliance heat

The warmth of fridge, oven and water-heater motors in these new builds gives cockroaches a sheltered, hidden spot to lay eggs away from view.

A kitchen with a fridge; the gap behind it is a classic nest

The gap behind the fridge

The gap behind the fridge gathers warmth, moisture and crumbs together, and it is the first place we check in the kitchens of these flats and villas.

A tap carrying water droplets

Water before food

Cockroaches look for water before food: a small leak under the sink or a dried-out drain trap is enough to keep them going.

A dimly lit kitchen at night

What you see at night

A single cockroach seen at night near a door or a floor gully means a harbourage is close by, usually toward the drains or the neighbouring plot.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and identify

We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.

  2. 2

    Treat the harbourage

Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.

  3. 3

    Close what can be closed

We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.

What cockroach control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded inspection

Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Placed gel bait

In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted spray where needed

On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drain and entry treatment

Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district

I have just moved into a new flat, so where are the cockroaches coming from?

Usually they arrive with second-hand furniture and relocated appliances, or through pipe and drain openings left unsealed after construction. We identify the entry point before treating, so they cannot simply return from the same source.

There is a large vacant plot next to my building, does it matter?

Yes. Unbuilt ground holds open drains and water that stands after rain, where the American cockroach breeds, and from there it crawls to the nearest building. We focus on the drain outlets, doors and gaps that face that plot.

The building is brand new, so why does it have cockroaches?

New does not mean sealed. Gaps around the plumbing, drain outlets and floor gullies stay open once the finishing is done. We treat the source and close these entry points rather than relying on surface spraying alone.

My neighbour in the same block treated his flat, is that enough for me?

Not always. Shared risers and pipework between flats let cockroaches move from one unit to another. It is better to treat the flat together with the shared drainage runs, so they are not simply displaced next door.

I have a garden with an irrigation system, is it connected?

Irrigation and garden drainage leave constant moisture along the villa wall and its outer doors, exactly the conditions the American cockroach prefers. We check the garden perimeter and ground-level entrances alongside the kitchen.

My flat is on the ground floor near the drainage pipes, am I more exposed?

Ground-floor units sit closest to the gullies and outdoor ground drains, so they are the first to meet the American cockroach coming up from the sewer line. We give the drain outlets and ground-floor bathrooms extra attention in these flats.
