Hand work on the touch points, a product matched to each surface, and the surface left visibly wet for as long as that material needs before it is dried off. Cold fogging comes last, for what a cloth cannot reach.

Questions about this district

Should we disinfect a shop and the flat above it at the same time or separately?

Separately. The shop closes and we disinfect it first, then wait until it is completely dry and open its windows. The flat gets done after the shop air has cleared the vents, because fumes travel up through the gaps between units.

Grease on cafe walls, will disinfectant remove it?

No. Grease is a barrier layer that blocks the disinfectant from reaching the surface. We wash walls with a strong degreaser first and let them dry, then apply the disinfectant. Without pre-wash, disinfection will fail and you will see it reappear in days.

Staff enter through the shared door; should we disinfect it before or after they arrive?

We disinfect hours before the shop opens. The door stays wet with disinfectant for the specified time, then we dry it before the first customer. After closing we do it again because hands touched it all day.

The lift in the building sits between the shop and flats; is there a cross-contamination risk?

Very high risk. Dozens of different people touch the lift buttons, rails and walls every day. We disinfect it before and after treating the zone, focusing hard on buttons, handrails and the interior walls.

How many times a month should the shared entrance be disinfected?

Once monthly for routine maintenance, but if shop traffic is heavy or there is a current outbreak, we increase to twice monthly. In high-risk seasons we discuss weekly treatment.

After disinfection, should we leave the shop and flat doors open or closed?

The shop stays closed for an hour before opening so the disinfectant dries. The flat gets window ventilation to clear stale air. The shared lobby is left open to air so it dries quickly.
