The touch points

Questions about this district

Does a shop disinfection differ from a flat disinfection above it?

Yes, a shop needs higher concentration because traffic is constant and it dirtier faster. We move stock and containers first, then focus on work surfaces, counters and direct customer contact points. A flat above may need gentler application around fabric and food, but a shop ground floor takes full strength.

Shared building entrances: do we disinfect inside only?

No, we cover the door from both sides, railings, walls to at least a metre height, every lift button, lock and handholds. The entrance of a shared building is the single highest transmission point. Every resident who forgets to wipe their hands will pass it on to the next person.

If the shop is shuttered closed for the day, do we disinfect differently?

Yes, we open and treat what a closed shop accumulates: corners, voids, shelves, the floor beneath displays and the ceiling. A closed shop is pest harbouring, so disinfection is comprehensive. We do not hold back from shelves and cupboards.

Will disinfection kill the insects already there?

The disinfectant will slow reproduction and dispersal but it is not an insecticide. If active infestation is present, pest control needs to be separate, either before or after disinfection depending on the pesticide type.

Clothing and shoe shops: do they need different disinfection?

We concentrate on floor, shelves, customer seating, the till counter and buttons. The garments themselves do not need it, but the surfaces hands touch need high attention, because contact transfer happens hand to fabric to home very easily.

If humidity is very high, does the disinfectant work well?

High humidity slows drying, which can be good if the product is safe, because it stays wet longer and penetrates deeper. But if we seal the room immediately, it may stay too damp and encourage fungal growth instead.
