Disinfection in Zamzam Makkah
Zamzam is a new northern extension of Al Sharai between Uhud and Wadi Al Jaranah, a recently renamed scheme on open ground north of the Makkah to Taif expressway reached from Al Jaranah Road on its western side. Planned plots with little building yet, cut by small ravines that drain towards Wadi Mudarraja and provide a continuous natural source of insects.

Why they keep coming back in Zamzam
The district is nascent on natural open ground with very little building and very few residents, and the ravines and nearby wadis provide a continuous source of wild and aquatic insects. The method is set out in full on how we approach Disinfection.
Open natural ground provides permanent insect sources
Zamzam is surrounded by open natural terrain and ravines and wadis that provide permanent shelter for wild insects and pests. Distance from dense development means pests arrive from the natural environment without interference, so disinfection must focus on preventive protection and defence around the home rather than just eliminating existing pests.
Ravines and wadis carry permanent moisture and contaminants
Nearby ravines and wadis provide continuous moisture especially during rainy seasons, leaving behind damp conditions ideal for mosquito and aquatic insect breeding. Wadi Mudarraja carries a stream of water and silt that feeds insects for extended periods, so we focus on treating floor traps and damp areas with special intensity and care.
Few homes mean no collective protection between neighbours
Building is very sparse and the current population is very small, so there is no collective effect from treatments at neighbouring homes. Each home is completely isolated and does not benefit from neighbour protection, so it needs strong independent disinfection and may need more frequent treatment than populated districts.
Zamzam on the map
Zamzam sits about 2.5 km from Thaniyah and about 2.5 km from Uhud.

A new residential district between Uhud and Wadi Al Jaranah on open ground north of the expressway, with few buildings on planned plots and ravines feeding into Wadi Mudarraja.
The touch points
Touch points in new homes are few but given surrounding natural terrain and wadis we focus on external entry points from windows and doors and outdoor gaps with strong emphasis.
Porous surfaces
Porous surfaces in new homes absorb disinfectant quickly and initial cleaning to remove dust and debris from the surrounding natural environment is essential.
The finish itself
Finishes in new homes are usually clean but building remains may hide insect larvae from the surrounding environment so we focus on thorough cleaning before disinfection.
The air conditioning unit
Air conditioning units need drainage line clearance from dust and moisture from nearby wadis and ravines as excess moisture may block drainage and breed pests.
Floor traps
Floor traps are new but may contain insects from the surrounding natural environment so we focus on thorough cleaning and disinfection especially in bathrooms.
Shared entrances and stairs
Outdoor entrances and external stairs need strong treatment because of proximity to natural terrain and wadis and we recommend regular strong preventive treatment.
How we work
-
1
Walk the space and list the surfaces
We go through the rooms and mark the touch points, the porous surfaces and the finishes, then ask what prompted the call: illness at home, moving into a new place, building work, or a smell that arrived out of nowhere.
-
2
Clean what we are about to treat
We take the film of dust and grease off the surfaces that are in scope, so the product reaches the surface itself. This is preparation for the treatment, not general house cleaning.
-
3
Apply it, and hold the contact time
Hand work on the touch points, a product matched to each surface, and the surface left visibly wet for as long as that material needs before it is dried off. Cold fogging comes last, for what a cloth cannot reach.
-
4
Ventilate and hand back
We open the place up, rinse food preparation surfaces with water, and tell you when each room goes back into use. We give you that timing on the call, because it changes with the product and the space.
What a disinfection visit includes
-
A surface and touch point survey
What gets treated, and with what, settled before anything is opened.
-
Soil off first, then the disinfectant
The greasy film comes off first, then a product that stays wet for the contact time it needs.
-
Floor traps and the air conditioning drain
Floor traps, sink outlets and the drain tray, which is where most smells actually begin.
-
Cold fogging for the space
For upward faces and corners a cloth never reaches, done as the last thing before we leave a room.
-
Ventilation and use instructions
What gets rinsed with water, what is left alone, and when each room goes back into use.
-
A scheduled repeat when it is needed
For shared entrances and places people pass through every day, because a disinfectant leaves nothing behind to stop the next contact.
Landmarks of Zamzam
Zamzam lies on open ground north of the Makkah to Taif expressway and is reached by Al Jaranah Road from the west, with Wadi Al Jaranah and access through to Wadi Mudarraja. These natural landmarks provide clear boundaries of the district and reference points for organising work in this remote developing area.

Questions about this district
Do open natural areas around Zamzam provide continuous insects?
Yes, the natural terrain and ravines and wadis provide a continuous source of insects and pests. We recommend strong preventive treatment around entry points and sealing all small openings that might allow insects to enter.
Does moisture from ravines and wadis increase mosquitoes?
Yes, ravines and wadis provide continuous moisture ideal for mosquitoes and aquatic insects. We recommend strong treatment especially after rain and during winter, and rapid drainage of water away from the home.
Does nearby Wadi Mudarraja carry insects into new homes?
Yes, Wadi Mudarraja runs close to the district and carries water and contaminants and insects. We focus on treating damp areas and zones near the wadi with special intensity.
How often per year should a Zamzam home be disinfected?
We recommend disinfection every two to three months in Zamzam because of the open natural terrain and nearby wadis. Regular preventive treatment is far cheaper than emergency treatment after serious infestation.
Do wild animals and reptiles bring other insects and pests?
Yes, wild animals and reptiles may carry insects and pests with them. We recommend strong preventive treatment around the entire villa, especially areas surrounding the home where animals move.
Do empty new homes attract more insects than occupied homes?
Yes, unused empty homes are ideal shelter for insects and pests. We recommend disinfection immediately before occupancy and maintaining ventilation and sealing all openings until actual entry.
How much does disinfection in Zamzam cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Zamzam.
