Flea control in Safa Makkah
Safa is the southernmost district of Al Sharai south west of Al Mughammas, a recently renamed neighbourhood with planned ground still mostly unbuilt and far from services. Largely empty ground sits between Jabal Al Tariqi and the channels of Wadi Al Sharai and Wadi Uranah. The remote location with planned but incomplete land attracts wild animals and rodents, and every new plot may find fleas arriving from the surrounding environment.

Why they keep coming back in Safa
The remote location and incomplete planned ground create ideal habitat for wild animals and rodents that may carry fleas to any new home placed in this landscape. The method is set out in full on how we approach Flea control.
Remote location attracts abundant wild animals and rodents
Safa sits far from the main urban area between hills and wadis, a location that attracts numerous wild animals and rodents seeking food and shelter. Any new home may find fleas arriving from these creatures.
Nearby wadis offer animal refuge and travel routes
Wadi Al Sharai and Wadi Uranah beside the neighbourhood offer safe passages for animals, rodents and reptiles. These creatures carry fleas and may travel into the planned ground.
Remote planned ground offers permanent animal shelter
Planned ground far from services and not yet paved or built has no government presence and remains wild shelter for stray animals and rodents before homes are constructed.
Safa on the map
Safa sits about 3.5 km from Kawthar and about 4.5 km from Mughammas.

The base of the carpet
Carpet base in new villas may receive fleas from surrounding soil and animals around adjacent plots.
Where the animal sleeps
Wild animals and rodents sleep in wadis and shaded corners around planned ground.
Flea dirt

Furniture edges and upholstery

Joints in a hard floor
Hard floor joints around new villas may offer shelter to fleas from the surrounding environment.
Damp shade outdoors
Damp shade in wadis and ground depressions around new foundations support flea breeding.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and confirm
We confirm it is fleas rather than another biting insect, and fix the animal's sleeping points, its routes and the shaded ground outside. Where there is no animal in the house, we look for the host they came from.
-
2
Treat the floors and soft furnishings
A residual with an insect growth regulator, worked into the carpet base, the floor and wall junction and the edges under furniture. The regulator stops a larva becoming an adult, which is what breaks the cycle.
-
3
The host and the shade outside
We treat the shaded ground and the outdoor lying spots, and we agree with you that the animal's veterinary treatment happens on the same day, because any host left out of the job re-seeds the floor.
-
4
Vacuuming, then the follow-up visit
Repeated vacuuming vibrates the floor and draws the pupae out onto a treated surface. We come back about two weeks later to take the emerged generation before it lays.
What flea control includes
-
Confirmation before anything is applied
Telling a flea bite from the alternatives, and fixing the resting places and the centre of the infestation.
-
Carpet base and floor line treatment
A residual and a growth regulator worked down into the pile and under furniture edges, not laid across the visible surface.
-
Shade and damp outdoors
The shaded patches by entrances and around drains and taps, the only ground outside where larvae survive.
-
The source when there is no pet
Stray cats sheltering under an outside stair, or rodents in the voids, each handled on a different footing.
-
The vacuum schedule and aftercare
When to vacuum, how to empty the machine, and why the carpet is not steam cleaned afterwards. Ventilation time we give you on the call, because it changes with the product and the space.
-
A follow-up timed to emergence
A date about two weeks on, timed to the pupae leaving the cocoons, and re-treatment of any room where fresh bites are still starting.
The character of Safa
New development: ongoing construction and vacant plots between the homes
A new development in a remote location means wild animals and rodents are the main flea source, not new residents or pets alone. Treatment must focus on the environment surrounding the land and the wadis.
Questions about this district
The location is very remote from the city. How did fleas arrive?
Wild animals and rodents in the area carry fleas, and workers and building materials arriving from other zones may bring them too.
The wadis are very close to the planned ground. Do they carry fleas?
Yes, wadis shelter animals that carry fleas. After floods new animals arrive from the wadi bringing fresh infestation.
The ground is not built yet. How do I protect against future fleas?
Preventive treatment before construction stops fleas sheltering in soil or arriving with building materials.
The hill beside the land, do fleas come from there?
Jabal Al Tariqi may shelter wild animals, but fleas do not travel directly from hills, only through animals that live there.
The new district is very remote from other neighbourhoods. Do fleas come from neighbours?
Distance from other districts cuts flea arrival from neighbouring homes, but local wild animals remain the main source.
Do we need routine treatment in this remote new neighbourhood?
Yes, the remote location and abundant wild animals may need routine treatment every six months to prevent fresh arrival.
How much does flea control in Safa cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Safa.
