Flea control in Zamzam Makkah
Zamzam is a northern extension of Al Sharai between Uhud and Wadi Al Jaranah, a renamed scheme on open ground north of the Makkah to Taif expressway, with planned plots but very little building yet. Feral fleas live on the bare ground and in strays, and migrate into the handful of homes spread across it.

Why they keep coming back in Zamzam
Exposed ground and stray animals sheltering in the ravines carry abundant feral fleas, and the few homes are isolated in the middle of empty land. The method is set out in full on our Flea control service.
Ravines and wadi channels are continuous unending feral flea shelters
The Zamzam ravines that feed Wadi Mudarraja provide endless natural cover for feral fleas and strays. Every seasonal rain stirs fresh fleas from deep soil. Isolated houses scattered among these ravines become permanent flea bait.
Vast planned but unbuilt plots are flea breeding grounds without limit
Thousands upon thousands of square metres of planned but unbuilt land offer ideal ground for feral flea breeding. Strays sleep in these voids and carry many fleas. Every new home built in the middle of these oceans of empty land becomes an island surrounded by unlimited flea force.
Isolation makes control impossible and distances between homes are immense
Homes in Zamzam are far apart and each sits alone on its plot. Treating one home in this desert of empty ground becomes a task without end, because fleas return from every direction. Coordinating treatment with neighbours who may be hundreds of metres away is practically impossible.
Zamzam on the map
Zamzam sits about 2.5 km from Thaniyah and about 2.5 km from Uhud.
Open in Google MapsThe resting places map the infestation
Zamzam is an open hilly area with very few buildings, a vast planned scheme with scattered dwelling, and many small ravines that drain toward Wadi Mudarraja.
The base of the carpet
Carpet in the isolated home is surrounded by open hill country on all sides, and fleas climb from deep soil below.
Where the animal sleeps
The family pet sleeps on the carpet because the home is alone and has no sheltered garden.
Flea dirt
Flea dirt appears on the carpet and sofa constantly because pressure never stops.
Furniture edges and upholstery
Sofa edges and upholstered pieces trap many fleas because the home is surrounded by an unlimited source.
Joints in a hard floor
Floor joints around external doors and windows are constant gateways for fleas.
Damp shade outdoors
Damp shade outside the home in every direction collects feral fleas from the nearby ravines.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and confirm
We confirm it is fleas rather than another biting insect, and fix the animal's sleeping points, its routes and the shaded ground outside. Where there is no animal in the house, we look for the host they came from.
-
2
Treat the floors and soft furnishings
A residual with an insect growth regulator, worked into the carpet base, the floor and wall junction and the edges under furniture. The regulator stops a larva becoming an adult, which is what breaks the cycle.
-
3
The host and the shade outside
We treat the shaded ground and the outdoor lying spots, and we agree with you that the animal's veterinary treatment happens on the same day, because any host left out of the job re-seeds the floor.
-
4
Vacuuming, then the follow-up visit
Repeated vacuuming vibrates the floor and draws the pupae out onto a treated surface. We come back about two weeks later to take the emerged generation before it lays.
What flea control includes
-
Confirmation before anything is applied
Telling a flea bite from the alternatives, and fixing the resting places and the centre of the infestation.
-
Carpet base and floor line treatment
A residual and a growth regulator worked down into the pile and under furniture edges, not laid across the visible surface.
-
Shade and damp outdoors
The shaded patches by entrances and around drains and taps, the only ground outside where larvae survive.
-
The source when there is no pet
Stray cats sheltering under an outside stair, or rodents in the voids, each handled on a different footing.
-
The vacuum schedule and aftercare
When to vacuum, how to empty the machine, and why the carpet is not steam cleaned afterwards. Ventilation time we give you on the call, because it changes with the product and the space.
-
A follow-up timed to emergence
A date about two weeks on, timed to the pupae leaving the cocoons, and re-treatment of any room where fresh bites are still starting.
Landmarks of Zamzam
Treatment in Zamzam begins from Al Jaranah Road, the scheme's access route, and work covers the surrounding ground, the ravines and the foundation before entering the home, because the open land is the true source of infestation, not the home itself.

Questions about this district
My home in Zamzam is isolated in vast empty plots. Will it definitely get infested?
Almost certainly yes. The open ground is an unlimited feral flea reserve, and your warm home stands out in the cold dark. New fleas will find their way to you constantly from the surrounding land.
Do the ravines around my home carry more fleas than flat soil?
Yes. Ravines offer natural protection for fleas and strays. Water gathers there and depth preserves dampness. Zamzam's ravines are natural flea storehouses.
Wadi Mudarraja is some distance from my home. Does distance protect me?
Distance will not protect you. Fleas crawl fast and strays carry them. Seasonal floods carry fleas far. Hundreds of metres may not be enough.
Treating my home alone, who will help me? Neighbours are far apart and scattered.
Coordination with them is practically impossible. You need repeated seasonal treatment: every month to two months during spring rains, and every three months the rest of the year, to manage continuous pressure from the empty land.
Do I need to treat the ground around the home with every treatment?
Yes. Treating a wide zone around the foundation and surrounding ground reduces feral flea pressure. Without external treatment, internal work protects for only one week.
Is there a permanent solution in Zamzam or will I treat forever?
Permanent control requires isolating the home from open ground: treated foundation, physical soil barriers, and a fenced perimeter with treatment. Without this, ongoing periodic treatment is the only answer.
How much does flea control in Zamzam cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Zamzam.
