Gecko control in Madain Al Fahd Jeddah
Madain Al Fahd is a mixed district in south Jeddah framed by Old Makkah Road to the north and Stadium Road to the east. Villas and apartment buildings sit near Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium alongside shops, restaurants and neighbourhood mosques. Geckos arrive from the stadium and surrounding green spaces and hide in shared openings between shops and flats above them.

Why they keep coming back in Madain Al Fahd
The stadium and its surrounding landscaping create ideal conditions for insects and geckos. Villas near the stadium receive higher gecko numbers than those further away. The method is set out in full on Gecko control in detail.
The sports stadium is a massive insect source
Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium is surrounded by playing fields, gardens and strong night lighting. The lights and green spaces attract millions of small insects and moths. These migrate from the stadium towards nearby shops and villas. Homes beside the stadium receive continuous gecko arrivals.
Shops and restaurants provide food year round
Taibah Mosque and the commercial shops and restaurants near the stadium provide constant food. Restaurant refrigerators, goods and waste attract large insect populations. Geckos arrive at shops at night and climb to flats above. Treating the shop alone will not stop them as long as the flat above contains food.
The two main roads supply continuous traffic and insects
Old Makkah Road and Stadium Road carry heavy traffic and night lighting. This means constant insects. Geckos are attracted to these lights from considerable distances. Homes on these roads will need more frequent retreatment.
The character of Madain Al Fahd
Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them
Madain Al Fahd is mixed, meaning geckos arrive from multiple sources: the stadium, shops, restaurants and neighbouring villas. Treating a single villa or one shop will not stop them. Coordination among residents and traders for collective treatment is necessary.
The food, the opening and the crevice decide the method
The district lies between two main roads, with the sports stadium providing green spaces and night lighting, and shops and restaurants near the stadium offering year round food.
The house gecko
House geckos in Madain Al Fahd hide in shared cracks between shops and the flats above them. Openings between adjacent villas provide safe passages.
Outdoor lighting
Stadium lights, shop lights and the two main roads attract insects. Geckos come from the stadium towards shop and villa lights.
Window mesh
Shop and flat windows may have loose mesh or gaps. Provisional mesh installed during construction has not been replaced with final mesh.
The air-conditioner sleeve
Air conditioner sleeves in shops, flats and villas may be poorly sealed. Gaps around them provide direct entry.
Meter boxes and electrical panels
Electrical boxes and meters in villas and flats may have wide holes for wiring. Cracks around them provide safe passages.
The garden and the irrigation
Small gardens around the mosque, if present, provide moisture and insects. Villas near the mosque may need defensive treatment.
How we work
-
1
Inspect at night and find the source
We come at the hour it is actually moving, and establish which wall face it is living on, which lights are gathering its food, the entry points and the crevices it wedges into by day.
-
2
Treat the food source
We treat the flying and crawling insects on the wall faces, around the perimeter and around the lighting. Once the food goes, the wall stops being worth staying on.
-
3
Close the openings and clear the crevices
We seal the air-conditioner sleeve, screen the vents and drain outlets, deal with the underside of doors, and place a repellent in the crevices and behind panels so they move out before anything is closed.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back once the glued eggs have hatched, check the seals held, and re-treat any wall face where activity has returned.
What gecko control includes
-
A recorded night inspection
Wall faces, lighting, entry points and egg sites, all established before anything is applied.
-
Treating the insects on the walls
Targeted treatment around lighting, windows and the building perimeter, because the food is what keeps it there.
-
Placed repellent in the crevices
Behind panels, in wall joints and at the ceiling-void entries, where it sits out the day.
-
Screening vents and drain openings
Shafts, vents and the condensate outlet, which are entry points nobody looks at.
-
Aftercare instructions
Ventilation, what to cover, and the change to the outside lighting that stops the insects gathering again.
-
A scheduled follow-up
A set date after the first treatment, a check on the seals and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district
Does a stadium next to the district mean permanent infestation?
The stadium creates ideal insect conditions. Treatment removes current residents and a second visit two weeks later kills new eggs. Intensive defensive treatment around villa walls stops migrant arrivals from the stadium.
Will treating a flat above a shop stop geckos if neighbouring shops are treated?
Treating the shop and flat together removes current residents. But other neighbouring shops may be untreated, and geckos may move between them. Treating a group of shops and flats together is better than treating one alone.
Are villas further from the stadium more protected?
Yes. Villas further from the stadium receive fewer geckos because the insect source is distant. But shops and restaurants in the district provide food, so the entire area has relatively high gecko pressure.
Does a nearby mosque increase the problem?
Taibah Mosque may have small gardens around it. These provide moisture and insects if irrigation is regular. But the mosque itself is not residential. Real pressure comes from the stadium and shops.
When will we need a second treatment in Madain Al Fahd?
First treatment removes current residents. Second treatment two weeks later is necessary when eggs hatch. After that, retreatment every three weeks in warm seasons and monthly in winter.
Is treating a single villa in a cluster worth doing?
Treatment removes the villa's residents. But neighbouring villas may already be infested, and geckos may migrate from them. Co ordinating treatment across several villas together is better than treating one alone.
How much does gecko control in Madain Al Fahd cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Madain Al Fahd.
