The bus station is next to our hotel. Does water from it cause problems?

Yes, the bus station is a very large water source. Cleaning water, lubricant and rainwater collects in low spots. This water is very close to the hotel and neighbouring flats. We must treat the station perimeter and voids between it and the buildings.

The commercial market is very large with many restaurants. Is that the main mosquito source?

Yes, the large market is a major source. Water from markets, restaurants and shops drips into open drains and voids. Treating the market and voids around drains is very important.

In Ramadan and Hajj the hotel is completely full and the station is very congested. Does treatment work?

Treatment weeks before the season greatly reduces mosquitoes. Focusing on voids and drains and areas that are not cleaned regularly helps. Another treatment during the season may be needed if mosquitoes increase.

Open drains in the markets and station are always blocked. How do we treat?

Blocked drains must first be cleared. After clearing we treat the drain openings and voids around them. This standing water in drains is a very fast breeding environment.

Does treatment differ in Al Aziziyah because it is far from Makkah centre?

Distance from Makkah centre means markets and hotels are less dense than the centre but the huge hotels, the station and the markets add complexity. Treatment focuses on large voids and open drains.
