Cockroach control in Al Aziziyah Makkah

Al Aziziyah sits about six kilometres from the Haram on the pilgrim road to Mina, a district of hotel towers, markets and furnished flats that fill with guests for a season and then empty. That rhythm changes the job: kitchens are used hard for weeks, then left with food residue and warmth, which is how a German cockroach colony builds between one group and the next. We begin at the kitchen and the drains.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Aziziyah

In Al Aziziyah's furnished flats, an infestation shows itself most clearly once a season ends and the place empties: what the guests left behind sits on behind appliances and in drawers, undisturbed. The method is set out in full on the full Cockroach control page.

The first reason

Flats filled and emptied by the season

A flat that houses pilgrims for a few weeks and is then shut up sees a lot of cooking in a short spell, followed by no deep clean. That cycle raises a German colony between one group and the next, so we time the treatment to the empty period rather than the full one.

The second reason

One tower, one shared drainage stack

Treating your flat alone will not hold when the tower shares vertical drainage stacks and has restaurants on the ground floor. The American cockroach climbs from the stack and the light well, so we seal its routes at the kitchen and bathroom and treat the meeting points on the lower floors.

The third reason

Furnished rooms, appliances that came before you

Flats here are let furnished, with appliances that were used before you took the keys, and eggs often arrive tucked inside an old fridge or microwave. We check the back and hinges of every appliance first, because the source may have come in with the furniture rather than from the neighbours.

Before treatment

The species and the place decide the method

Al Aziziyah's residential towers share vertical drainage stacks that link one floor to another, and below them sit shops and markets serving pilgrims. American cockroaches climb those stacks from the sewer line up into the flats above.

A small light brown German cockroach

German cockroach

The German cockroach is the resident of Al Aziziyah's furnished kitchens: it hides in cupboard corners and the cutlery drawer, where warmth and crumbs remain after each occupied season.

A larger dark cockroach on a wooden surface

American cockroach

The American cockroach comes up from the drainage stacks and light wells of the towers, larger than the German, seen near the bathroom and the kitchen drain, mostly in the lower-floor flats.

An oven and gas hob beneath wooden shelving

Appliance heat

Appliances in furnished flats run long hours for guests, and the heat off a fridge or water heater gives the cockroach a warm spot to lay eggs out of sight.

A kitchen with a fridge; the gap behind it is a classic nest

The gap behind the fridge

The fridge in a let flat is rarely pulled out, so guest crumbs and the damp of its own drip collect behind it, which is why that corner is always where we begin the inspection.

A tap carrying water droplets

Water before food

A cockroach looks for water before food, and with Makkah's humidity and the many bathrooms in a tower it finds moisture fast, so we dry out the leak points before laying bait.

A dimly lit kitchen at night

What you see at night

What you see at night in the tower lobby or on the stairs is not the beginning of it, but a sign that a colony has filled up behind a nearby kitchen and started to spread.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and identify

We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.

  2. 2

    Treat the harbourage

Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.

  3. 3

    Close what can be closed

We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.

What cockroach control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded inspection

Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Placed gel bait

In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted spray where needed

On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drain and entry treatment

Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district

My flat is let to pilgrims by the season, when should it be treated?

The best window is between two groups, while the flat stands empty. Then we can pull out the appliances and treat the kitchen and drawers without disturbing anyone, and the bait works quietly before the next group arrives. We close off the eggs before the place fills up again.

There is a restaurant and shops under my building, does that matter?

Yes. The kitchens of the ground-floor shops are a steady source of food and warmth, and from them the cockroach climbs the drainage stacks and light well to the flats above. We treat your flat and check where it connects to the lower floors, and advise treating the commercial source so it does not return.

The flat is furnished with old appliances, can they carry cockroaches?

They can. A second-hand fridge or microwave sometimes arrives with eggs stuck in its warm corners. We check the backs and joints of the appliances on the first visit, because treating the surface alone does nothing if the source is inside the appliance itself.

Do cockroaches move between the flats in the tower?

They move through the vertical drainage stacks, the light well and the gaps around the pipes. This is why you can see cockroaches despite a clean flat: your neighbour treated theirs and they fled to you. We treat the shared openings and seal around the pipework, not just the kitchen surface.

Guests bring luggage from other cities, can that bring them in?

It can. A bag may carry a cockroach or eggs from another hotel or home, and it settles once it finds food and warmth in the flat's kitchen. You cannot prevent that entirely, but treating the kitchen between seasons cuts off any start before it grows.

My building is near the market, will that keep bringing them back?

Being near Al Aziziyah's markets and food shops means steady pressure from outside, but it does not mean they must return. We treat the source inside your flat and close the entry routes from the stairs and pipes, then follow up to shut down anything that survived before it settles again.

How much does cockroach control in Al Aziziyah cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Aziziyah.
