We walk the outside boundary and then the inside: gaps under doors, pipe runs, vents, condensate lines, drains, the bin area and the store, and we fix the monitoring points before anything is applied.

Mesh on the vents, the gap under the door dealt with, the sleeve around a pipe run closed, and water put back into the drain nobody uses. Exclusion saves a spray that would otherwise repeat forever.

A residual band at the base of the wall outside and around door and window openings, with placed product inside joints and closed voids where it is warranted, and no open spray across living surfaces.

The South sub municipality runs from the edge of Old Makkah Road down to Al Khumrah and the southern corniche. Dense residential districts sit beside new subdivisions such as Al Sanabil and Al Taawun, warehouse fringes such as Al Saruriyah and Al Sarawat, and an old seaside settlement at Al Quzayn. Open stormwater channels cross the housing, and the warehouses, the vegetable and livestock markets and the nearby Islamic Port and Industrial City give pests shelter, food and year round humidity. Can the preventive programme cover the voids beneath the floor between the restaurant and the flat?

Voids beneath the floor are hard to reach, but the programme covers the entry point from the restaurant into the pipes and every opening on the flat's side.

In summer when we are away and the restaurant stays open, does the programme need to change?

Yes, when the flat is empty insects enter more easily. Monitoring may increase or interior spraying should happen in the last week before you leave.

The flat beside the restaurant also has insects. Is the problem from the restaurant or from the whole district?

It may be from the restaurant or from the street, or both. The preventive programme monitors both: openings from the restaurant and openings from the street outside.

Does the spray programme include treating the shared pipes in the party wall?
