Scorpion control in Badr Makkah

Badr is a new scheme in Sharai on raised ground in western north Makkah, between the Fourth Ring Road and King Faisal Road. Residential plots are planned with new buildings scattered on high ground. Construction is ongoing and vacant spaces abound. Scorpions arrive from the vacant land and ongoing building work disturbs them.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Badr

Scorpions in Badr come from vacant plots and ongoing construction that forces them to seek shelter in occupied units. The method is set out in full on what Scorpion control involves.

The first reason

Vacant land between homes

The scheme is planned but building is not finished. Large vacant plots provide safe passage for scorpions. Insects and moisture in these gaps draw scorpions. Occupied units near vacant land are at higher risk.

The second reason

Ongoing building and stacked materials

Continuing construction work disturbs earth and stone and piles materials. This unsettles scorpions and forces them to find shelter. New completed units near building sites face sudden entry.

The third reason

Raised ground and incomplete services

The ground here is relatively high and rocky. Drainage and water infrastructure is incomplete or missing. This means moisture is irregular and scorpions are drawn to places where water pools temporarily.

What we check outside before we go in

A newly developed scheme on raised ground between the Fourth Ring Road and King Faisal Road. Planned residential plots with scattered new apartment buildings. Services are thin and building continues in parts of the area.

An exterior block boundary wall showing joints and cracks

Wall joints and boundary walls

Joints between foundations and rocky raised ground are poorly sealed. The raised dry ground provides ideal shelter for scorpions in the gaps.

Blocks and stones stacked in the corner of a yard

Rubble and stacked block

Building debris and scattered stone provide temporary and permanent shelter for scorpions in vacant land.

Dry palm fronds lying on the ground

Palm fronds and garden litter

Dead vegetation and litter accumulate in the gaps between schemes, where scorpions hide.

The space between an exterior door and its threshold

The gap under the door

Gaps under new doors are wide because the ground levelling is incomplete, and scorpions pass through with ease.

A drip irrigation line over damp soil

Irrigation and damp soil

New garden irrigation creates temporarily damp soil, attracting insects and scorpions from nearby vacant land.

The light by the door

Night lights at entrances attract insects and scorpions follow them from vacant plots.

How we work

  1. 1

    Night survey and perimeter inspection

We walk the perimeter after dark with an ultraviolet lamp, which makes a scorpion show up against wall and soil, and we record the harbourage, the ways in and how much prey is present.

  2. 2

Treat the harbourage and the building edge

Dust into the wall joints and the dry voids, and a targeted band tight against the foundation and around openings, because the material holds longer on a porous surface than on tile.

  3. 3

Close the ways in and remove the prey

A sweep under the doors, sealing where air-conditioning and drain pipes pass through, mesh over openings, and treatment of the cockroaches and insects it feeds on, so the reason to come in goes with them.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

A scorpion can sit in its harbourage for weeks without moving, so the first pass does not always reach it. We come back to refresh the perimeter band and check what has appeared since.

What scorpion control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

A night survey with an ultraviolet lamp

A walk of the perimeter after dark that fixes the harbourage and the entry routes before anything is applied.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted perimeter and joint treatment

A band against the foundation, plus wall joints and cracks, never open floors or where children play.

  • A metal floor drain

    Sealing openings and pipe entries

Drain openings, the points where air-conditioning pipes pass through, and mesh on shafts, which are the routes actually used.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Treating what it feeds on

Placed bait for cockroaches at entrances and service areas, because cutting the food supply reduces visits more than repeating a spray.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

What to lift out of the yard, where to move the outside light, and the ventilation time for your situation, which we give you on site.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, a refreshed perimeter band and a check of anything new around it.

The character of Badr

New development: ongoing construction and vacant plots between the homes

The new development character here means that building is ongoing, vacant land is widespread and services are incomplete. Scorpions arrive from this temporary chaos in temporarily high numbers. Treatment must focus on preventive protection before moving in and on vacant land around units.

Questions about this district

Does ongoing building work around my villa increase the number of scorpions?

Yes directly. Building work disturbs earth and unsettles natural scorpions in the area. New completed units near building sites experience temporary high activity. Preventive treatment before or during building is best.

Are the vacant plots between villas the main scorpion source here?

Yes. Vacant land provides a natural environment for scorpions. The more gaps the higher the risk to neighbouring units. Sealing gaps around your villa reduces entry.

Does a new villa still under construction need immediate treatment?

Yes. Treating the villa before moving in is best. Building work displaces scorpions and a new empty villa attracts hungry ones. A new villa lacking interior insects becomes a target.

Why do scorpions appear in villas right after construction finishes?

Building has pushed scorpions from adjacent land. When construction ends, scorpions enter the new villa seeking shelter. The new empty villa attracts them because interior insects are absent.

Is one treatment enough for a new villa in Badr in its first year?

One is not enough. Vacant land provides a permanent scorpion source. Two to three treatments in the first year are better until units are established.

Does clearing debris from vacant land reduce scorpions?

Yes greatly. Rubble and litter provide scorpion shelter. Coordinating among residents to clean vacant gaps reduces the problem noticeably.

How much does scorpion control in Badr cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Badr.
