Shops and flats share walls and drain pipes, and termites ferry water and food between them through the single drainage network. Treating only the shop stops them there, but the flat above and the shop beside both need their own treatment, or the colony simply bypasses the treated space through the shared walls.

We sound the timber and the skirting, take moisture readings, and follow the tubes to the point where they leave the soil. We also settle the species, because one that lives inside dry wood is not treated like one that lives in the ground.

Treat the soil around the building

A narrow trench at the footing and injection at regular spacing, so the treated band runs continuous with no gap to walk around.

Drill the joints, inject the timber

Small holes at spacing along the slab joints, the wall bases and the pipe entries, direct injection into the galleries inside the affected timber, then the holes are closed and made good.

Bait stations and monitoring

Stations in the soil carrying a slow-acting material the workers pass through the colony by mouth-to-mouth feeding, and we come back to read them, because an empty tube on a wall proves nothing on its own.

What is different about Al Sharai Sub-Municipality

Al Sharai is the eastern growth front of Makkah along King Faisal Road and the Taif road. Settled quarters sit beside recently renamed schemes where plots are still vacant and buildings are going up, so construction sites, fill and open excavations lie next to occupied homes. Wadi channels such as Wadi Mudarraja, Wadi Al Sharai and Wadi Al Mughammas carry flash floods after rain and dry out to damp silt, while dust blows off the open hills. Roadside shops, restaurants and warehouses line the Taif road, and to the east the area shades into villages, palm farms and springs.

My shop is below my flat: does treating the shop protect the flat?

Termites move between flats and shops through shared walls, drains and floor joints. Treating the shop alone stops them in that space, but the flat above needs its own soil and cavity treatment, because the colony can reach up the walls from your footings whether the shop is treated or not.

My neighbours refuse treatment: does treating only my unit protect me?

Your own treatment protects you from termites rising from the soil around your footings. But if a neighbour is infested and you share a wall, your treatment reduces the risk but cannot stop them entirely, because they can cross the shared structure from their side.

My wooden floor is very old and crumbling. Can treatment save it?

If the floor is actively infested, treatment stops the termites from spreading further, but it cannot repair wood that is already eaten from the inside. You may need to replace the worst sections and protect the rest with ongoing monitoring.

Water pools under my floor after heavy rain. Is moisture alone the cause?

High moisture draws termites and opens the soil route, but the termites come from a colony in the ground first. Treatment targets the colony itself and also removes the moisture that invited them, because both must be addressed together.

My flat is on the third floor. Do termites climb to upper storeys?

Termites rise slowly up walls and footings from soil, so upper flats have lower exposure. But if the flat below is infested and termites spread upward in shared walls, they can eventually reach higher floors through the connected structure.

How many inspections does my shop or flat need in a year after treatment?

Regular inspections catch new termite activity early before it spreads. The frequency depends on what the monitoring stations show, and there will be scheduled checks at intervals to track any remaining colony activity.
