We walk from the goods-in door through the racking, the production areas and the outside wall line, and establish whether the pressure is stored product pests inside the goods, rodents from the perimeter or flying insects from waste and doorways, because each of those is a different programme.

Pheromone traps and numbered points

Species-specific pheromone traps through the storage areas, and monitoring points on the external ring and along the internal walls, numbered on the racking plan. A trap treats nothing, it tells us which aisle the numbers are climbing in.

Targeted treatment and isolating the consignment

Spillage is lifted first, then empty racking, wall and floor junctions and voids are treated, and nothing is placed over open stock or a running line. A consignment showing activity is isolated where it stands rather than carried through the building.

Sealing, then the scheduled visits

We close door gaps, openings and pipe entries, then come back on an agreed schedule: the same traps and points are read each time, and a report goes over what was found, what was treated and what the building still needs closed.

Questions about this district

Our warehouse is attached to a villa with a large irrigated garden. Does this cause problems?

Very significantly. Large irrigated gardens are rodent incubators. We need strong isolation between warehouse and garden, and traps placed around shared walls and openings.

The villa has a swimming pool. Does that attract pests?

Permanent water attracts rodents and insects. Water seepage or continuous moisture around a pool makes the environment highly attractive. We inspect walls and openings with particular care.

The back courtyard is full of plants and landscaping. Do pests shelter in them?

Dense planting provides excellent cover for rodents and insects. An adjacent warehouse may see migration from this planted area. We focus on sealing and external inspection.

Are upmarket villas less prone to pests than standard villas?

Upmarket villas may be cleaner, but large gardens, permanent water and dense planting create ideal rodent environment. Cleanliness alone does not solve the problem.

Our warehouse sits between two villas. Does pressure double?

Yes, each villa is a potential rodent source. If the warehouse is between two villas we need enhanced sealing and intensive external inspection on both sides.

What is the difference between a high humidity villa garden and a dry one?

A high humidity villa with irrigated landscaping provides better rodent environment. Raised moisture means faster breeding and higher pressure on the adjacent warehouse.
