Bed bug control in Khadra Makkah
Khadra is a new district on King Faisal Road between Al Muaysim and Al Sharai, its blocks going up on a young grid still crossed by vacant plots and half finished facades. Because almost every flat here has only just been handed over, the bed bugs a family finds rarely started in the building itself, they arrived with whatever furniture moved in behind them.
-
Targeted, not broadcast
Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.
-
Told before we start
What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.
-
A follow-up visit
We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.
-
Homes and businesses
Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.
Why they keep coming back in Khadra
Most of the bed bug cases we see in Khadra trace back to furniture carried in from a previous home rather than anything already living inside the new building. The method is set out in full on our Bed bug control service.
Furniture that arrives from a cleared home, not a building's own history
Many families in Khadra moved here after an older home closer to the Haram boundary was cleared, bringing the same beds and wardrobes with them. The inspection starts with that furniture, because the flat itself has never been lived in before and carries no history of its own.
Empty flats still being finished above occupied ones
Some blocks here have upper floors still under finishing while lower floors are already lived in, so what happens in the unfinished flat, workers passing through, temporary bedding, tools left overnight, has a direct bearing on what gets checked in the occupied flat below.
Vacant plots turn a move into open-air storage
Between Khadra's buildings sit plots that have not been built on yet, and families often set furniture down there while shifting floors or waiting for a flat to be ready. That furniture reaches the new home only after sitting outside, not straight off the removal truck.
Khadra on the map
Khadra sits about 2 km from Muad and about 3 km from Badr.

Schools and municipal services here still lag behind the pace of building, so some blocks stand finished and occupied while the plot next to them is still an active construction site.
The mattress seam
New mattresses bought for Khadra's flats rarely show old infestation in the seam, it stays clean unless the mattress itself was carried over from another home.
Frame joints and screw holes
Bed frames here are either new and still boxed or older ones brought with the family, and every screw hole in a carried over frame is worth a close look.
The headboard and the wall behind it
Because the plaster in these flats is so fresh, any mark left on the wall behind the headboard shows up far more clearly than it would on an older, layered wall.
What the bedding shows
On bedding that is still new, bite marks and dark spotting stand out sooner than they would against the mixed patterns of older, well used sheets.
Sofas and armchairs
Many of Khadra's living room sets were bought together when the flat was first furnished, so we check the whole set as one job rather than piece by piece.
Luggage and second hand furniture
Second hand furniture in Khadra usually comes from a home cleared elsewhere near the Haram, not from a local market, and that origin is what decides where we look first.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and map the spread
We strip the bed and work through the mattress and base seams, the frame joints, the headboard and the skirting, then check the upholstered furniture and the neighbouring rooms to see how far it has gone.
-
2
Laundry, heat and steam
Bedding is bagged and sealed inside the room, then washed and dried hot. Steam runs along the seams and edges, because heat reaches the cemented eggs that a liquid never will.
-
3
Targeted, non-repellent application
A non-repellent product goes onto the harbourage itself, with a dust into voids and screw holes. We do not use a repellent aerosol, because it drives the insect deeper into the wall and into the next room.
-
4
Monitoring and the follow-up visit
A sealed encasement goes onto the mattress and the base, with monitors under the bed legs, then we return once the remaining eggs have hatched and re-treat anything still active.
What bed bug control includes
-
A recorded inspection
Mattress and base seams, frame joints, the headboard, the skirting and every upholstered piece in the room.
-
Steam and targeted application
Steam along the seams and edges, and a non-repellent product on the harbourage itself, not on the surfaces you sleep on.
-
Voids and pipe entries
Behind the skirting, around pipe entries and under socket plates, which is the route from one unit to the next.
-
Monitors under the bed legs
Checked at every visit, they show remaining activity before the bites do.
-
Laundry, encasement and aftercare
The hot wash and dryer routine, a sealed encasement on the mattress and base, and what must not be carried out of the room.
-
A follow-up timed to the hatch
A date set on the hatch, and re-treatment of anything still active.
The character of Khadra
New development: ongoing construction and vacant plots between the homes
In practice that means almost every flat is newly occupied, so a bed bug problem here almost always traces to furniture that arrived with the family rather than a history left behind by previous tenants.
Questions about this district
Does new furniture bought from shops on King Faisal Road need checking?
Factory new furniture does not usually carry bed bugs, but checking still matters if it travelled on a delivery truck that also carries second hand pieces, or if it sat in the shop's storeroom for weeks before it reached you.
Our block still has flats being finished upstairs, does that affect our check?
Yes. Workers and equipment moving between floors during finishing can carry bugs from a temporary rest spot into the flats already lived in below, so we check the shared walls and vents that connect to the unfinished floor.
Our children sleep over at relatives in Muad on school days, should we check their bedding?
Yes, any regular night away is worth a look at the school bag, clothes and bedding once they are back, especially with school this far from Khadra and the stay repeating more than once a week.
We move furniture across the vacant plot next door before settling in, does it need checking?
Yes, sitting outside even for a few hours can expose furniture to other stray insects, but it also gives us a chance to check it away from the flat before it goes in, which is easier than checking a bedroom once everything is arranged.
Construction workers next door rest in a ground floor room, does that raise our risk?
If that room shares a wall with your block or sits close to your entrance, then yes, it is worth an extra check, because temporary bedding used for a rest break can carry the insect even without anyone actually living there.
We moved here after our old home was cleared for the Haram expansion, does our furniture need checking?
Yes. The new flat itself carries no history of infestation, but furniture from the cleared home may carry eggs or live insects that travelled with it, which makes checking that furniture more important than checking anything bought new for the move.
How much does bed bug control in Khadra cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Khadra.
