We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

Questions about this district

The villa and block have no residents yet. Why fit the deterrent now?

An empty villa is far more attractive to pigeons than an occupied one. Without people moving around and noise, they settle easily and build a nest. Fitting now stops the problem before it starts, and it costs far less than removing a full nest after residents arrive.

The street was damaged by the drainage project. Does that affect the deterrent?

Damaged streets do not affect the deterrent itself. The roof deterrent is stable and safe. The bigger impact is that standing water attracts more pigeons, so we advise fixing the drainage quickly.

A project is still under construction next to the villa. Does that draw pigeons?

It draws them heavily. Pigeons land on building frames and incomplete roofs, then fly to your villa. Once the project finishes, your deterrent will protect you from pigeons coming from the rest of the district.

Damp ground and pooled water affect the foundations. Will the deterrent last?

Metal deterrents endure for years, even in damp conditions. But standing water gives pigeons constant drinking water. We advise draining water quickly from around the villa and apartment.

Will pigeons come back once construction around the villa is finished?

No, if we fit a strong deterrent and the ledge is secure. Pigeons do not return to places with a strong deterrent fitted. But if the rest of the district is left unprotected, pigeons will return from other areas.

What is the difference between a new villa and a new apartment block for pigeon settlement?

Villas have lower roofs and apartments are taller. Pigeons settle on both, but treatment differs. Apartments offer pigeons multiple nesting points, while villas offer only one.
